I’ve been wanting some burgundy boots for a long time now. Fell in love instantly with these Franklin and Poe x Wesco Jobmasters.
Insanely comfortable

Very nice indeed. I love a good lace to toe boot, much more so the American style roofer boot variation.

Thanks. Yeah, I agree. I’ve been really surprised at how well they pair with any combo. Stoked to see how this leather ages too.

I've been a big fan of oxblood / burgundy since I bought my first new Aero leather in 2010, a Bootlegger in Cordovan. Most flexible, go with everything leather I ever owned.

Looks very nice. Wesco makes one hell of a boot. Never been disappointe, and the prices are still in the “ok-range” (albeit increasingly on the northern border).

Yeah man. They are very competitively priced compared to a lot of makers. Lofgren for example. I have a couple engineers from them…lovely boots. But when you get a pair of wescos you sort of wonder where the twice the price of lofgrens comes into play.

Don’t even get me started on the recent Good Art price hike! Freaking double for most of their core items.

I have two of their “Triple Welts”, a two-tone brogue and a derby. I like them for their over-engineered look and feel.

The last is pretty narrow, yet the shoes themselves appear rather blunt, as the additional welt creates a veritable “rim” around the whole construction. I like it, but it’s not the most refined look.

Here’s a Grenson Triple Welt. Dug it out of storage and will wear it sometime next week. A sturdy one for sure.

Here’s the Grenson next to an Alden Loafer.

Both are roughly equivalent to a European size 43 with a D width, i.e. both wear comparably alike. Yet, the rim of the excessive welting creates the appearance of an enormous boot.

Solovair Highlander boots. I am not real fan of the hi-shine leather, it is heavily processed. If only they made this in their gaucho crazy horse leather.

I like the high shine. Especially when they get wrinkles over time. I think the combination of well-worn and shiny is cool.

Here are my Solovair steel toe derby boots in high shine. 8 1/2 years old. Very durable boots. The only thing is scratches are easier to see because of the sheen.

^^Those look sharp Pandemic! I hope they break in well for you.

As for myself, I "somehow" won a bid on these White's 350C that are full roughout. These will be my first pair that are full roughout, looking forward to trying these out, I do not have any that are only 6" tall.
