Russel Mocs have been sent back for a new pair.
This is an update to my original review. I received a new pair of boots. Lead time was 35 days. I requested that they try and complete them ahead of a trip I have planned and they did. The original boots fit and were very comfortable but their appearance was 4/10. The new boots are a 8.5/10 and that is admittedly being VERY CRITICAL. They match up well against other brands at this price. They remain very comfortable. Hopefully i will be able to post a part 3 of the review after i’ve had a chance to wear them a while

I am glad they finally delivered. Mess ups do happen but how one deals with it matters. I guess that’s especially true for niche makers which can seriously damage their reputation if things go sideways.

Good that they managed to make your re-do ahead of the queue. That would have seriously irked me otherwise.

Splendid that you like them!

Doc Martens “Made in England” Tassle Loafers. Fresh out of the box. Love at first sight!

There’s been some discussion about the quality of DM deteriorating over the years. I do maintain that this is not true for the MIE line. While value for money can be queried, this seems to be a solidly crafted shoe made in Northamptonshire (i.e. a place where cost of labor would be dramatically higher than in Indonesia where the truly dreadful “base” models of DM are manufactured).

In their website they say that they are made at their original factory in Wollaston. Guess which brand is manufactured there!
Btw, I don't remember my early 90's pair to be made of this leather, mine was dyed through black. Let us know how this develops, seems interesting.
