Never though I would see Waldviertlers here. These are the Wirbelwind, right?

I have four pairs which I wear in the summer: Ansa, Kommod Flex Sommertramper and Tramper Flex.
Wide toebox is just comfortable but the zero drop and the low amount of dampening on some models took a while to get used to. Now I can wear them all day.

Quality is really good and you can often get them quite cheap (unused) on willhaben.at if you live near Austria.

My first two Waldviertler shoes (I also bought them in blue). Look similar to Chucks, but are real shoes made of good leather. Wide toe box makes them very comfortable. Clean workmanship (red Wing can take a leaf out of their book), removable inner sole and replaceable with another (e.g. felt), outer sole can be replaced if worn, 1 year guarantee against manufacturing defects. At a very acceptable price.
I'm going to buy the Chelseas from them next.

Nice. Always like a quality appraoch to iconic casual-wear. You can sport the look but don´t have to compromise on what you´ve gotten used to in terms of quality!

Yes, exactly. "Wirbelwind" -> Whirlwind.
Some of them have funny names that you have to get used to.
The Tramper don't look very good when they're new, but when they're really worn in and a bit greasy, they can compete visually with any other work boot. With the difference that they are really comfortable ;-)

Looks like Stingray, but in "real" hide these would be a 4-figure sum surely...

I just noted since I once had a Panerai watch with an after market stingray strap. Looked killer and allegedly was EUR 200, -.

Willie asked me to send the boots back to them at my expense. They will make alterations and send them back to me at their expense.
Gave him this file showcasing what needs to be altered. Waiting for his confirmation that it's all clear, then I'll send them back.

Seems insane to me honestly. To rebuild to that level, seems easier to just make another boot.

Most fun thing about Panerais is how they work with every kind of strap you can imagine.

It was the Radiomir SLC. Such a cool, reduced design, going perfectly with the stingray strap in brown-gray.
Stupidly, I sold it as it was a 47mm case and I figured it was just a bit too chunky. Miss it sometimes.

I think so too, but not my call. On the other hand I hope they can just trim and re-stitch the existing materials to reduce waste. No idea how anyone could fit a boot this size with this kind of shaft and instep comfortably in terms of him/me reselling these.

I'm simply expecting a well fitting boot (after giving them many 2d and 3d foot and leg measurements) that is built to my spec (1 midsole, not 2). And yes, like I mentioned, the 2 layer midsole is debatable as you can call one of those layers a leather outsole. But I'll see if he agrees to these alterations or only the shaft replacement and related adjustments (points 3 and 4) in the document. That would also be good enough for me.

I have to wonder if that last is part of the problem on that particular build. It's odd that the build could be so out of whack considering all the measurements u gave him. What are your thoughts on this?

Well here's how he put it:
"Hi bro good day. my apologies for the wider shaft, my staff might have given too much allowance on the shaft. we normally give 6-7cm space on the upper shaft and 5cm on the ankle."

So he doesn't do everything himself (kind of expected that), but has a staff that works on boots. Maybe a new member or apprentice who didn't calculate correctly or was too generous with the spacing.

For example:
I gave my upper calf measurements at 29,5. By his logic the result should have been 35,5-36,5cm. I want 36-37cm so it would have been right on the spot according to his own instructions. But it came out at 41cm, which is way off.
