1. Who told you about gorp?
2. What country are you in?
3. It seems you’re choosing niche brands. Any reason?
4. Scarpa, Russel moccasin?
Found out about it myself online I guess. I'm in canada. I go for niche brands because I have niche tastes. Stuff like Keen and Merrell seem like garbage. Scarpa is too narrow for my foot and I don't like the look of moc toe. I'm picky too, I'll admit that freely.

I actually have a pair of Meindl military surplus boots en route to me via ebay. Meindl has a good reputation for quality.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not slagging Meindl at all. I've owned them, and they were quite nice. The only gripe with mine was the soles didn't last very long. You might even want to look at their Perfect, or Super Perfect boots. Both classic stitchdown hiking boots, and can be had for a lot less money than the Limmers.

Keen are ugly as the day is long but i have found them indestructible and have hiked 100’s of miles in them
My dad had some Keens and had durability issues. Sole separation seems to be a concern. I do like how wide they are. I briefly looked at the Pyrenees model as it looks somewhat traditional but the reviews were mixed enough to turn me away from them.

I've had the exact same Keen sandals since 2019, they've been all over the province, and the world with me.. oceans, rivers and mountains. They are ugly as sin but I can wear them all day without thinking about them, I've thought about replacing them with a different colourway but they simply don't need to be replaced because they've held up so well.

Best method for cleaning verdigris off metal eyelets on leather boots? I have a pair of Whites Bounty Hunters that I haven't worn in a while that I'm considering selling, and while going over them I noticed the green oxidation on the eyelets. Would a vinegar and baking soda paste be safe to use around the CXL HH of the boots? 20240601_160951.jpg 20240601_161019.jpg
