Well, that jacket does actually fit quite blousy and perhaps even bell shaped. That Fine Creek picture could actually be relatively accurate.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I think I've let it be known that I don't understand Fine Creek's cuts at all.

I’ve looked at the various other jackets (LL, RMC, Aero) but the Eric really stands out

If you like it and it fits you well, then I would say it would be worth it. I'm not even a fan of Fine Creek personally, but if the jacket does actually fit you well and you love it, then yeah it would absolutely be worth it.

I've spent far too much time amassing jackets from FC, RMC, Iron Heart, etc... and my opinion is similar to what @dudewuttheheck mentioned above. Doesn't matter how high the quality, or amazing the leather, if it doesn't fit you won't wear it.

I love FC. Great jacket, great leather, great details. The fit/cut is all over the place. So difficult to size correctly. RMC is just difficult to find a fault with. Everything is great but lacks a bit of personality, in my opinion. IH is maybe a step below FC and RMC but not by much and I find the cut/finish similar to Vanson (more predictable for US/Europe sizing).

Try a few, send back the one that doesn't fit right. Hard to go wrong with any of these choices.

Anything over 300 GBP is only worth it if you want it and anything over 300 GBP is a scam. If you like Eric, get it but also know you'll be able to find a much nicer, used, vintage jacket for much, much less. Maybe even $25. And nothing about that very expensive Fine Creek jacket is gonna be any better. It's just dead animal skin neatly stitched together & you'll just be paying for a tag with a brand name. That's not to say you shouldn't spend major money on a leather jacket. By all means, go for it. I would if I could!

Hey all, I’m looking for a little guidance/opinion. I have been wanting a FNL Edward for sometime and found one in what I think is my size. I am notorious for buying leather jackets too small and regretting it. I talked with the guys at Rivet and Hide and they recommended, based off the measurements I provided I go with a 44. Right off the bat sorry about the sweatpants, the DHL guy handed me the package literally as I was walking out the door to go to work (I change into a work uniform there). I’m 5’10” 195lbs with what I’d call an athletic build. The jacket feels good on but I’m not sure if it is really “boxy” looking or if as the leather breaks in it will form to me better. I know most of the models for this brand are tall thin dudes. I’m mostly not sure about the length. I do expect the sleeves to shorten up a bit and I will be wearing this on my motorcycle. Anyway, hoping for some valid thoughts, thanks, J

fits well. but for my taste it’s 1" too long.
and the sleeves on the forearm seem a bit wide. on the left arm a little long too?

Where are you located? Will you wear it with only a tshirt or do you want room for a sweater. Looks too big for just a t in my opinion but if you’re like me in a 4 season town sometimes that’s the sacrifice you have to make.

Thanks, I tightened up the pulls on the waist a little and I think that helps a lot. I’ve never had a jacket with pulls there.

don't think you have enough room to come down a full size. So it's probably the best you can do. Although, there is a lot of extra material in the back. Sleeves will shorten a touch. Length is a little long, but again, not much to do there. Overall I'd say pretty good. Can you try on the next size down just to be safe?

I don’t think the next size down will work because of my chest and shoulder. And the arm openings are tight around my bicep/Tricep area. I’m wondering if the jacket will mold to me as it wears? I’m up in the air because I feel like I’m trying to talk myself into it. I think it looks good and is super comfy but I’m just not 100%.

I think this is what I needed to hear. The jackets definitely not going to get any smaller. I was torn between this and their Leon Custom. Looking at the measurements and now trying on this edward, i think the leon might fit me a bit better. I'll probably be putting in for an exchange. Thank you all for you opinion.

^good call. Looks too big, awkwardly wide the forearm/wrist, and too long. Use this as a fit jacket and return it for something closer to your desired spec. These jackets are not priced for compromise.

Curious why with the zipper down the sleeves are not tight. The zipper does not appear to be doing anything. Thinking someone else here had the same problem with the sleeves and had them fixed.

FCL jackets are well made and incorporate top notch leather. The FCL Eric is very long, with very wide shoulders. It also has mismatched panels. Doesn't work for me.

To me, the whole design looks elongated. That's probably because I prefer the look of the original with shorter body length. But I can see how others might prefer a longer jacket. Tastes differ.

But maybe even more important, won't this be hugely uncomfortable to wear on a motorcycle? Have you tried sitting down while wearing the jacket? I can imagine that either the bottom hem will press onto your lap or the collar will 'choke' you.

I think there's a reason why the original Lewis Leathers (motorcycle jacket) is a lot shorter.

It looks like a poor Lewis Leathers knock-off, done by someone who doesn't understand what they're doing and why they're doing it, and all they know is that they hate making leather jackets and would rather sell properties. Motorcycle jacket at a choir coat length - Why even keep the waist straps if they'll sit at your hips!? Zippered sleeves that don't work. Mediocre, flat looking leather.

All in all, the jacket fits you okay for something you bought in Zara during a 2016 spring sale. Otherwise, if they paid me 2000 GBP, how much this must have cost, to wear it for one full year, I honestly would've said no, thank you.
