I'd also do more research before ordering a 1500eu+ jacket.
The intention for this jacket seem to be to end up like this anyway, so I wouldn't worry about how much black it has - you'll be losing most of it soon anyway haha.

Black, in terms of a natural (non-synthetic) dye, doesn't exist. AFAIK Fine Creek is using vegetable tanned leather so a 100% black is never to be expected.

Your other jacket, Richard, is as green as the Leon is purple.

It's actually more complicated as this as you have to train your brain to see black things as such but once you do, you won't ever again see a black leather jacket as black.

I'd personally enjoy the jacket as is.

First of, I did all the research possible in Denmark in terms of researching the internet and looking at as many fcl jackets in black I could get my hands on in real life. Which was 2. And they were not purple. Also I visitet this store I baught the jacket in last year, and they had the model you just linked, which is in my eyes true black, but with cut off belt and cut off shoulder epil… (whatever they are called) So NATURALLY !!! When they say it’s black, and the same model last year was a black I could live with. I pulled the trigger. There are no research faults on my end.

I would LOVE the jacket you linked!!! It’s just not the one you get when you get the newer version. You get the “Blue Oyster” purple/brown watered down version.
And no it is totally not supposed to end up like it is anyway.

The thing is I saw the earlier version in the same store last year. And since they are still calling it black I thought it would be the same. The older versions are more true black or like my Richard. Also I think my Richard is 90% more black, green or not.

Alright, I guess you could have asked for pictures of the particular jacket that you will be getting before ordering/shipping.
Also looks pretty purple to me here : https://stuf-f.com/en/products/fine-creek-leathers-leon-custom
But yeah, it's annoying when the same jacket has different versions based on period and you're not sure which one you'll get.
Like I said - just return it.

I think that color is nice. It makes a different.
Here is my leon custom 1.8 or 2.0mm japanese version
If you don't want it to fade quickly, don't use soap when cleaning.

Really hard to judge the colour by looking at photos. My iPhone-camera NEVER gets the colour across perfectly.

"Black" as in "deep-black, absorbs all light, shows no contours" is a rarity in clothing.

If you don´t like the jacket it´s not really a question of what WE think. Just try to return it.

On a separate note: I absolutely LOVE the leather on your "Richard", and I dont mean the colour either. FCL doesn´t get a lot of love around here, but is a firm shop-favourite for some resellers. Your Richard is an example as to why that is!

Definitely more of an inky black in the product photos.

Thank you.

The store agreed to take it back without the 20% deduction. They actually agreed that the pictures they advertised did not portray the actual color of the jacket very well.

I just wanted to hear if some of you had experience with the new 1.3 leon. And maybe could calm me by saying it would age into a more black.

Of course the right thing to do is return it if that’s not the case. So i thank you for your input. I love this forum. Your the best ❤️.

good news. That jacket was never going to get blacker. All it’s gonna do is teacore fast and leave brown streaks all over.

Never heard of aging to black in my life.
Haha. Well if you buy the a jacket like this gardener it fades to a light brown much much darker. So maybe not fade to black but fade to much darker is prolly what I meant.

Only jacket I’ve seen that fades to black was one made with a leather they called ghost leather, it had a whitish wax topcoat, that fades off with wear, over black smooth leather, not to be confused with the liquid paper type of overcoat that cracks and chips off to reveal black, this one starts off chalk greyish-white and goes into darker grey to eventually black
