Shinki horsehide break in

Hi.
I bought a fine creek Richmond s66 type 1 about 12 months ago. The more I wear it, the more unsure I become whether it’s for me. The reason is mainly due to the limited range of motion and armour like silhouette.
My question is how much should I expect shinki horsehide to soften up? And will this make the jacket easier to move in?

Thanks

Shinki is neither very thick nor hard to break in. If you still feel restrictions after a year of wear, it most likely is a sizing/pattern problem and cannot be improved by further wear.

Is there a photo of you wearing a jacket?

Overall, the jacket fits well on you. The only thing in my opinion is that the sleeve is too short. But many people like this sleeve length. If you don't feel comfortable with the jacket, it won't get any looser. It's worth selling and buying a size bigger.

Thanks for the advice. Think that is what I needed to hear. I am reluctant to sell when you feel like you’re putting in the time and effort to break it in but ultimately I never feel fully comfortable and at ease when I wear it so selling is probably for the best.

Do you have any advice on where to sell or is eBay/Vinted the best bet? Thanks

The fit looks spot on, but if it doesn’t feel alright it’s better to sell it, I had the same problem with a steerhide jacket the fit was trim and it looked good but I wore it only 10 times because it was too restrictive.

Oh, brilliant. Didn’t realise that was an option. Would you have any idea what sort of ballpark to price it at? Never sold anything like this before. Was £1600 new.
