Rogera, a far cry and better than a fair hike from your neck of the woods. I find it refreshing to be able to travel the world vicariously threw the eyes and lenses of fellow loungers. Though the vast majority of us know each other only threw the Lounge, that tiny little connections allows us to view each others adventures just a little more personal.

Rain in Pisa and Florence so left hat behind, but here are a few shots

Brings back great memories of my long ago trip to Italy wine65. The tower seems to be leaning further than ever and defying physics at this point. Is there a better meal than Italian in Italy?

What's not to like about italy? If you are still in Florence, be sure to order a steak at a restaurant. They call it "Bistecca alla Fiorentina". Not just the best steak in Italy but, arguably, in Europe. Hope I don't offend anyone here with that last statement - just my personal preference.

Great photos Wine65. Thanks for bringing us along. The details on the buildings is mind blowing, quite the contrast to the architecture where I'm from.

HatsRme and Mikespens - it's amazing what they did to "help" the tower in the nineties. Dug under the long side and reinforced with concrete. No wire support needed any longer and is said to be a fix for the next 200 years.
Chepstow- our first trip to Italy just getting a taste and enjoying it all.
Geldoc- unfortunately did not have the pleasure of the steak sounds fantastic. Florence was really beautiful, had some wonderful porcini mushroom pasta and outrageously good pistachio gelato! (Yes Mikespens Italian food in Italy is the way to go!)
Dh66- the architecture everywhere is just amazing in these old cities.sadly only a couple more days left.

I think all of the distractions of the modern world - internet, tv, ... literacy - have probably been the downfall of that kind of attention to detail in architecture.
Enjoy the rest of you trip!
