fantastic picture, MMonesix.

My feet are actually exactly the same length apparently haha:/

Pretty cool regius, what did you actually do specifically to patch it?

not much really, repairing shoes is not my skill or goal, but it was an interesting exercise. *note, i picked up a scrap of DOMINION left around. DOMINION is what Bates use these days.

I could have done it better by sanding the edges of the scrap to a gradient so that the 2mm thick leather don't elevate from the background, but well, those captoes are not gradiented so what the heck, it was 12am in the morning.

I simply used leather glue and iron. Just don't iron on the leather directly. The only trick is spatial imagination, haha, you have to imagine a shape of 2D leather to mold to a 3D curved surface without creasing.

^^^Me, too. If my right foot is happy then the left foot can wear anything. The right foot is always the "size setter" for me. I do write with my left hand, though.

I apparently know what it's like to walk in your shoes, or boots, as the case may be.

Thanks for the info. I didn't even know there was such a thing as leather glue, though now I have no idea how I could have thought that. You had to iron the dominion leather and then glue it on?

no, it's a more less simultaneous process, you start by cutting a piece in a shape that would hug a spherical surface well, then apply glue, press on it, even out all the creases and enforce with ironing over a cloth.

Brian just finished my Carolina's, this is a different boot now!

I bought a pair on ebay for $75.00. They were basically new, with a couple minor flaws. They are very well made and very comfortable. They look great too. I've been wearing them daily. No one could believe they were UGGs.

Did they fit true to size? Did the lining affect the sizing any?

The UGGS Jonesboro boots are black Chromexcel leather and are not lined. They have an insole that is fleece and rubber. They do fit true to size otherwise. I am a border line 9.5/9D so I put a Superfeet blue insole, along with the fleece insert in the boots and they are quite comfortable. The soles are similar to a Vibram Mini lug and are very good on ice and snow. The real test will be this summer when I put them to use when riding my Harley. The sole and heel are not very beefy though, so I think they will wear out quickly. I don't mind this because I will just have them resoled to my liking. They are Goodyear welted. Not bad for $75.00 ($95 with shipping). They are a good looking boot. At least to me.

^Those features all sound like an absolute bargain for under $100, even if the brand name is less than the most reputable.

Today, I went to Brian's shop to pick up the FRYE, the Wolverine and the Carolinas. The master was there and Brian was sitting at the back, it was a surreal experience!! I tried on a sample pair of Role Club too, and had my feet measured. Brian and the master were both friendly and very accommodating.

Very cool, Reg! Do you have a loyalty punch card with Brian yet? Buy nine and the tenth one's on the house :D ;)

Excited to hear your thoughts and see pics of your Role Clubs when they come in

Good news....sort of.
Wesco have found the mysterious missing roller buckles I sent them. The new ones arrived with Wesco buckles. They knew they had mine, were mystified that they weren't on the boots, and weren't quite sure where they were. They then thought they had put them on another pair of boots. They have now found them. Boots are going back overseas for a holiday, some quick cosmetic surgery, then back to Australia...
It's been one of those transactions. Apart from the stuff ups, I can't complain, they have done everything they can to make it right, and I have to admire that.luckily I own more than one pair and am not bare foot.

Gents,

I don't know how familiar you are with Sugar Cane's Lone Wolf Engineer Boots from Japan, but these are a premium-quality boot that compares very favorably with Viberg and other high-end, notable brands, and we just received a full re-stock in black; we can outfit sizes up to a USA 11 as measured on a Brannock device. It's unknown how much longer we will continue to offer the Lone Wolf footwear, as Japanese leather-welted footwear has the highest dutiable rate of any item we import (45%) and it takes up a good deal of storage space that could be better used to stock items that utilize less space and that sell more readily for less financial outlay.

You can read more about these premium-quality boots and see detailed images on our website here:

https://www.historypreservation.com...wolf-collection-engineer-boots-black-leather/

If you have questions or particular needs, I can answer either here or at the office with great authority, as I wear these boots myself. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
