Will do mate. Super pumped. They had to change a few things due to size and width of foot.13EE which is a bit disappointing, the whole point of custom boots for me is getting( and paying) for what you want. I also got some vintage roller buckles from a dude in Japan, so I'm keen to see how they turn out.....stay tuned.

OK wore brown engineers to work today. Australia any word?
Just found out they are in Australia....prob a couple days away....getting very frisky, not least of all due to the fact I've ordered 2 pairs of Whites, but Kyle wants to make sure these fit first....solid thinking, but I've already paid, and I'm keen as mustard...will keep you posted.

Lewis Leathers have gotten themselves into the Enginner boot game, it seems.... I've only seen this one photo so far, so can't confirm they definitely are traditional, pull-on engineer boots without the Lewis back-zip, but they do look great....

I chuckled when I read that, it's a saying that's so classically Aussie. There is an old company called Keens that produces mustard and mustard powder and similar products, part of McCormicks I think, anyway 'keen as mustard' is an old Aussie phrase. I'm looking forward to seeing your boots Bunyip!
Ok, so the eagle has landed. A bit underwhelmed to be honest. I got an email a couple of weeks ago saying that the last I ordered wasn't available in my size 13EE. I was told the heel might be a bit lower.i didn't think much of it, but I had based them on a few pics I sent them with a woodsman heel. I'm not thrilled with the heel at all, not the look I was hoping for, a few little rough bits that I wouldn't be concerned about if the heel was good. I'm interested in your thoughts on this. I don't know if I'm overreacting or not?

Bunyip - I don't remember exactly what you ordered - what last and what heel were you expecting? The leather looks good to me. The heel looks kind of low to me - is that what you asked for? Don't get me wrong, it's not hideous, just not what I expected.

It was an MP toe, and I stressed that I wanted a woodsman heel. I initially ordered vib 430 soles and then after a few weeks they told me they don't make them they big. I will put a pic up of the boots that made me order them in the first place.

So, to me, the boot looks really awkward and out of whack, like the heel is lower than the toe almost? In fact, the longer I look at it, the more disappointed I am. It's very frustrating being an international customer, exchange rate is getting worse every week, the postage costs are hideous etc etc....I'm a long way away from thrilled at the minute. I can't see myself being comfortable with these. Over $600 in the end, dearest shoes I've ever bought by far, I think I was happier with my first pair of crocs.

The style of the boot is fine and good looking. Personally I like a lower heel. I suspect the awkwardness is simply the look/style of the heel. That corregated (? ) look is strange with a low heel. I have said before with the Viram 100 sole nobody sees this when the boot is worn. They only see the leather. At the worse change the heel if it really bothers you otherwise a good pair of boots.

Yes, I slept on it, but I think the initial disappointment has ruined it. The irony is that 12 months ago when I first started looking at them, I wanted a lower block heel the more I learnt and looked at this site and engineer boot thread, the woodsman heel really grew on me. To me, it just looks plain strange, and disjointed....I would be jazzed if I cam across them at a sale price or in the seconds section, but not for over $600.... Who knows, have sent a very polite email to them, will see what transpires...still very interested in comments guys...

I think disjointed is an apt description. They just look off IMHO and the heel is the culprit. I will say that the brown domain leather looks really nice.

I agree that the commando style of the sole does make the heel look much smaller than it might if itg had a flat sole level with the high points on what it has now. As it is, it reminds me oddly of the Vietnam-era jungle boots...
At that sort of money, you don't want to be disappointed. In your boots I'd have done the same thing - drop them a polite line with your concetrns about how it wasn'tg exactly what you were expedcting, and see what can be done. Looks to me that (at worst) it's "only" a matter of a heel replacement, which shouldn't be a difficulty. I think a flat sole would definitely give more impression of thickness. Hope you get this sorted - they look like great boots otherwise.

Mate I don't think it's awful, but it's not what you wanted so I can understand your disappointment. The leather does, as the other guys have said, look great. I hope the company can give you satisfaction but if not, maybe someone local could put new heels on for you? I think from memory you're in Melbourne. There's a bloke local to me who does good work at good prices here is SW Sydney, but that's no good to you down there!
