today, I got a long discussion with a local bootmaker to order a new boots, I drew these 2 models, one is more robust and the other is more fashion, both I want removable harness belt, finally I went with the one on the left the one more biker look. the material would be dark brownish grey nubuck with lightly blackened veg sole and antiqued brass hardware. one day I would have the other one made too in black suede, but maybe by another maker since this maker obviously has more "biker or western style" in mind.

Entering a for me new rabbit hole. Can you give me some advice about the fit of Wesco boots and John Lofgren engineer boots. I am a 7,5 in Viberg 2030, 1035, 310 (only in 310 with an insole), 7,5 in Red Wings IR, 8 in Truman Boots and a 7 in Trickers Stow Boots, 8 in Converse. For what size should i look. How are the fit of Wesco and John Lofgren Boots in comparison? Which one would you prefer? I don't ride a bike.

There are palpable differences between the two boots. I personally prefer the Lofgren. I feel they are "finer" (details/ stitching/ leather). In jackets- I would compare them to Real McCoy. The Wesco are awesome for a pair of durable boots (think Aero Jackets). The upside to Wesco is the ability to customize.

I find that the standard Wesco Boss runs a little wider than my Red Wings (I wear a 10.5 EE in Red Wing and a 10.5 D in the standard Wesco Boss). I have never tried the Lofgrens so I can’t comment on their fit. I have seen them and handled them in person though, and I agree with handymike that they are a more elegant and refined version of the engineer boot.
Since you are just starting out with engineer boots I would like to tell you about my favorite boot, the Wesco 7400. This boot is built with their motor patrol (MP) toe which gives it more of a classic look than the current style with the round toe and the heavy Vibram lug sole. This boot runs narrower than the standard boss so I purchased mine in an E width and they fit great. Everybody’s foot is different obviously, but for me these are the most comfortable Engineer boots I own.

I wear the Lofgren's and Motor Patrol Wesco's in 10 and 10D respectively, I've found the JL's to be a little narrower across the foot but a touch roomier in the toe box, which for me make them the most comfortable.
