Howdy!
This is my first contribution to the forum and with that I’d like to thank everyone for this space being here to-do-so. It’s great to find a place to learn about vintage clothing, jackets, etc and to sponge up what the members have to share!
With that I present to you my first A2. It’s an Eastman A2 AC23373 which I believe to be the house model. When I bought this jacket I was told it was an older production ~30 years old. I have no way to verify this, however.
The jacket shows signs of wear and is far from perfect but it works. It needs new cuffs and a waist. I’ve applied one coat of conditioner so far. I think it could benefit from another as it soaked it up within a few minutes. It has a brass Talon zipper that says USA on the back. Hopefully with elbow grease and shared wisdom this jacket will have a lot of life left in it.
I have already worn it at work in the aircraft and plan to make this my “beater” or work wear jacket. The aircraft has lots of sharp edges and plenty to get it caught on and scuffed by.
Anyway, without further ado, I present the A2. If anyone has any information, comments or question, please share!
