I'll have to discuss this with my brother who went through a serious "be here now" phase in the 80s and was always quoting Ram Dass. At the time, I assumed RD was some Indian Guru and that my brother had taken one bong hit too many. I guess I was not the most sympathetic big brother. My Bro went on to become an upstanding level-headed adult.

I never thought he fully recovered after his brother Fred died a very yrs ago.

A coincidence I am sure, but yesterday I started watching Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl on Netflix. It was a favourite watch back in the 80s with my dad. I hit stop to get to bed right after Neil Innes, long time Python collaborator, had finished "I'm The Urban Spaceman", with Carol Cleveland dancing maniacally in the background. It was a song he did with his first band, the Bonzo Dog band (or something like that!).

I just learned today that Neil died yesterday, aged only 75. Here is another favourite of mine, which I have on one of my many Python record albums:

Thank you, I missed that. Neil and the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band have always been a favorite of mine. RIP.

I think the good hitters have as good or better understanding of the strike zone than do the umpires. I umpired amateur ball at a high level for years. I was called up to ump a game of barnstorming ex college/ex pro US players against a local semi pro team. I rang up the first batter on a called third strike. He turned to me holding his thumb and index finger about an inch apart and declared.."bullshit, that pitch was this much outside." SOB was right, intimidated the crap out of me and he was just an ex college player.
