Indeed, sad day. Those of us who never missed an issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland were huge fans.

Great actor, will always be Dracula for me, but also a WWII SAS hero IIRC.
I wondered if he'd served in WW2.
He was terrific in the LOTR movies. RIP.

He did serve in the RAF during WWII.
And in the SOE, as well. Here's some more info:

Don't know if there are any 'rasslin fans here, but "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes passed today.

Very interesting. He was a remarkable man and great actor. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. I wonder what secrets he took with him...
Grand Ole Opry Star and newest member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Jim Ed Brown passed away today at 81.
Christopher Lee actually died Sunday morning (June 7th). Although Internet rumors were apparently circulated, the official announcement of his passing was delayed until family members were informed. But, yeah, it's unusual to hear of so many celebrity deaths on the same day....What a day! I can't think of anytime we have lost so many famous people in a single day.
