You're right about that, it had everything. Heck, look at that waistband!

I was watching it but it went above my limit. Even so, I was expecting it to go higher. The size no doubt had something to do with that. Not to mention the stains but those could come out.

Oi, it was my size!

Well, a nice suprise when these came through the door is that they're probably earlier than 40s, and that the fabric was made by Stifel, one of the grand old names of US fabric manufacture … Good stuff all round!

Following on from the chappie above, I bought these 1940s corduroy trousers from Etsy. lots of good stuff on Etsy, guys.

I just lost on this nice suit. :frusty:

I've honestly come to believe that I'll never get away from that 1950's sack suit stuff with those narrow lapels... There seems to be some kind of ill fate that keeps me from winning SB suits from the 30's or 40's. Maybe it's a good idea to call off the hunt for a while... :( :pout: [huh]

I almost got in on this one, but I just snagged another suit last week, and the shoulders are just on the narrow side for me. Regardless, at $101, this was a pretty good score for someone. Be more aggressive! I'd have gladly gone in for at least $150 if I wasn't dead broke at the moment...

Same here. My funds are pretty limited at the moment, otherwise I'd have been much more agressive...

Well, the poor run on prices on eBay continues. Admittedly these are quite small. I got the green early 40s sharkskin 3-piece for $20. Look at that fabric!

Black 3 piece got a bit better price.

The cut on this one is a bit weird but that's no excuse for under $15 for a "Hand Tailored" grade Hart, Schaffner & Marx suit.

There is another one listed by the same seller right now! It's a bit knackered though.

Call Me a Cab

My friend once had a dream that he went 60 years back in time; he said he caught a cab and told the driver to take him to JC Penny's!

This ended the other evening (UK time). A lovely shirt, and for this early Catalina, not surprising. I was interested to see what price it would fetch as I own this shirt, but in a smaller size. I bought it for £14.99 BIN from British eBay after a fellow FLounger had passed on it as not having a loop collar. It's interesting that this shirt has the very same all-over purplish/blueish mottling (can be seen best in the front pic and close-ups) that I had thought was staining on my shirt. Good to know that's how it was meant to be …
