Kinda like Ice Road Truckers during the summer time makes it cooler in the house. :D
I've been known to do the same with Nanook of the North

Uh Vitanola I don't listen to that crap. :)
Pity. You might well find that you like some of the best of it. "Since My Best Gal Turned Me Down" and "Goose Pimples" are rather widely considered to be some pretty fine music.
One episode that stands out is Heart of Darkness with Ed O'Neil. Great music, with a less played hit by Devo called "Going Under."

Ah! Devo! Never cared too much for their music, but they were certainly fun. Met the band, and their most interesting driving force Jerry Casales back at an early edition of WRUW's "Studio-A-Rama" back in '76 or '77. I still have a cylinder recording which I took of that band playing "Room 1411", an old jam number originally waxed by Benny Godman & his Boys back in '28, and some 78RPM acetates of their better known numbers. "Room 1411" sounds not at all like the original, it's more along the lines of a complicated cat-fight in a mustard mill than the original, but then that is the point, the De-evolution of our society. You know, I do believe that Jerry would find the writings of some here to be congenial.

Oh we don't drink Northern drinks down here.
I'm taking a chance by drinking wine instead of beer, whiskey, or shine. ;)

Honestly, the drink does look good.
I'll have to check it out when the weather turns colder.

I like some of Devo's stuff, along with Flock of Seagulls.
But as the 80's rolled on, I was into Metal.
Iron Maiden as one example, but honestly they weren't heavy.
At the same time I could pull out a Who CD, or Robert Plant solo CD.
My tastes vary.
Of course Techo, that was a mistake.
Dern near made myself deaf with too much wattage.
Oh sure, it was neat to see how high you could bounce a quarter on the top of the car, when the bass hit, but now I'm paying for it, at least in one ear.
And that would be the side I have my wife sit on. :D

Well, there are several recepies for Tom and Jerry in my copy of Housekeeping in Old Virginia, a comprehensive cook book of 1870's vintage which was written with the express intent of making available to housewives all over the land the legendary culinary treats of the Old Dominion, so I think that you might be safe to try it.

As far as the modern music is concerned, I never particularly cared for it, greatly preferring the stuff from before the War, but I have always forced my self to be at least somewhat conversant with most modern music, lest I miss out on something really good out of simple pig-headedness.

BTW what happened to Autumn?
This year to celebrate or forget Autumn, I might try my hand at Hot Toddys.
It's quite nice.
(I'm a person who haven't had the chance to see one before) :D

...
Now, about that Hot Toddy..
"the vitamin C for health, the honey to soothe, the alcohol to numb"
So, pass a glass over here, sir. :yo:

Then again.. SOME of the modern music does not deserve even a glance. It even frustrates me to see it on the front page of YouTube. :rage:
..
(please, James, don't post a picture of Miley "twerking" Cyrus, for the love of..) :D

..and then realizing the treasure is not worth all the junk you have to swallow. :p

Time to embellish this page:

Pumpkins everywhere.
Dern!

At least with the cool breezes we don't have mosquitos, or wasps, or bees.
That part of fall I like.

As for Miley, well the Autumn reaper will get her soon enough.
Modern music. Yeah every so pause in changing channels on the xm portable I have.
When I do, instead of classic vinyl, I get "new" music.
To be honest, I trained as a signer a bit when I was a kid, up through my highschool years.
If I thought I could make money, even a little bit, at singing the crap these kids do, I'd take a shot at it.
It's a beat, they kind of hold a note, and you fix it in the studio.
If they can't hold a note, you get that auto tuner thingy, then nobody knows.
Or rap, I could do that.
Back in the day when REAL rappers lived, it was music.
Now they just talk with a beat behind them.
I can do that.
"Who's woods are these I think I know, I stopped by his house and the blankity blank ain't home you know?:D
