Autumnal Thoughts........

We've had the humidity thing since I was a kid.
And actually it goes back a long time, because we have the Mississippi River passing by.
My dad stated, when coming back on a flight in the 60's, he got off the airplane and felt like someone hit him with a wet mop.
That pretty much sums it up.

Autumn is here, the "fall" beer flavors at in the grocery store. :eeek:

Fall colors mean the same here too VT, wet leaves due to the rainy season.
Cold and rainy.
If I wanted that I'd move to Tacoma.

That's what gardeners are for. I'm pretty sure we'd have gardeners even if my back problems didn't prevent me from doing yardwork--they're better at it than I am, and can get the work done much faster than I could.

Well, now, that's just wrong. Umm, wait, I meant to say yeah, you're absolutely right. You should package all of that up and send it to me...y'know, so you won't have to deal with it.

Well, I do the backyard and the gardener does the front yard. I still have skin in the game though.

I don't even mess with that nasty turkey and trimmings. I have bacon wrapped Ham.

Actually, I don't dislike autumn; I dislike all of the nonsense that is associated with the autumn/winter holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve. Those cookies look good though. :hungry:

As for 100 degree temps, we get them each summer and have them for at least 2-3 weeks now.
For us it's not so much the temp as it is the humidity.
Kind of like a weight that's been placed on you when you step outside.
At least crime goes down when it's that hot.
Chili is good year round, I'll agree to that, but again when I'm sitting still and sweating, I don't want something really hot to eat.

Right now Autumn is great. The first week or two, because the temps are down but the leaves are still up.

Chili is good no excuses.

Two or three weeks of 100 degree weather oh wheeee! That isn't enough.

Those nasty leaves will be down soon enough. :rofl:

Can anyone tell me if the Fall in New England is all it is supposed to be? Or is it the Boston tourist board's hype? Also I did hear that there are bars and other places that have no restrooms, is this a myth. Someone I know came back from there and explained that some of the oldest buildings are refused planning permission for such facilities, on account of altering an historic structure. Am I having my leg pulled here?

Listen, I don't dislike fall, I love bringing out my winter wardrobe because I have more variety.
I have more long sleeve shirts that I enjoy wearing, than I do short sleeve.
Over time, one collection (Woolrich) has gotten softer and softer with age.
In this case, Fall is a good thing.
But leaves...Maybe I could get some of those large prop trees used in tv shows.
I get the shade but not the falling leaves.

VC, I have 2 girls that do that.
Both get up at 5:30, go out, then come back in and strike that pose. Until I get ready for work of course, then at least the Heeler loves daddy and wants to play. The Bedlington? She doesn't move from that pose until you make her...lazy isn't the word.
