Love this sombrero and jacket combo.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Schott IS 674 MS Those were very popular back in the 80's. I believe they were introduced in the late 60's. I remember Kurt Russell wore one in the movie The Thing. Personally, love this so-called "bomber" jacket. Purchased my first Schott ($280) 184SM in 1983 in the gold lining. Got it stolen in Pamplona then, purchased another one and gave it to my good Italian friend in the late 80's. Back in the day, many bikers in Rome, where I was living, rode in them. I currently own Schott 684SM, a very similar, newer model with a removable liner and a mouton collar.

Thought it might be, but the I thought the 674ms had an action back?Schott IS 674 MS Those were very popular back in the 80's. I believe they were introduced in the late 60's. Water got onto this natural leather (?) Californian vintage jacket and left these oil stains. Anyone know what can be done to make this look better? I’m not gonna dye the jacket. Thanks View attachment 798982
I totally agree. I love this jacket. Very practical and has a very nice fit. My first big jacket improvement was in this jacket. I used to call it the bear. I added a thick cream tan mouton vest and collar. I used a thick material similar to the car seat covers of the 80'sFor all the talk of Perfectos online, this might be the actual most popular Schott ever. Put on a 70s or 80s film or look at street photos in New York or something and you see it on tons of people.
It's also extremely practical between the removable liner and collar. You can cover all kinds of weather.
It's hard to tell from the pics. To me it looks like leather that was designed to have the top coat wear off quickly to give it that teacore look. It looks like a newer reproduction to me.Is this genuine tearcore, or is this rot / dryness? Anything to be worried about?

it looks similar to the fading on my buco jh-1, but a lot more extreme. It's hard to tell from the pics. To me it looks like leather that was designed to have the top coat wear off quickly to give it that teacore look. It looks like a newer reproduction to me.
It's a nice jacket.
The jacket looks good from afar, but up close I don't knowThat doesn't look like tea-core to my eye. The closer you look at a tea-core finish the more it remind me of a phony patina like you saw on some hotrods a few years ago. The appearance of forced aging. The right cuff of that jacket looks to my eye like it may have some age and wear related damage to the exterior layer which would definitely not be tea-core if that's in fact what it is. That said, either my eyes are not what you need reviewing the pics or the shot's a little fuzzy.
Those buttons don't show any indication of wear which is odd for a jacket that shows so much.

Just swap the lining for cupro or light cotton. Is melton wool lining on leather jackets unbearably warm for most of the year, or is it just me? It seems the majority of Rainbow Country Hercules jackets have a melton wool body lining, but that makes me a bit hesitant to buy one as it would make it essentially a winter only jacket.
