The jacket is goregeous, but I think i mayu pass on it. My wardrobe is full and it seems too similar to my brooks cafe racer

However, it does look thicker than my brooks...
I know what you mean.. I have too many as well. I like brooks but the jackets I’ve had has been thinner than the excelled jackets I’ve had. It’s the hunt and history of these jackets that I enjoy most. I can spend hours researching these jackets.

And when you find those brooks with the nicer leather, they are amazing

One more thing, I ended up selling that jacket because the fit just wasn’t right so I sold it.

Yeh, I’ve heard a lot of people say you shouldn’t alter a jacket beyond shortening the sleeves, because you risk ruining it.

On the other hand, when I received my custom Johnson, it was a little too big in the body. They said no problem send it back and within a few days they had taken about an inch off the torso and it looks perfect.

Only $60??? I was expecting to hear it would be hundreds

I’ve always liked Johnson leathers, top notch for sure and if they made the jacket, I’m sure altering it would turn out perfectly.. $60 wasn’t bad but that was a couple yrs ago. I took in some gustin pants to have them made into shorts and it was $90 for 3 pair. I’m not complaining because it’s great having a a talented team like that near me. Did you get a chance to look at those gustin shirts yet? I know, if they don’t have what you want in stock, the ordering process is a pain. Takes months sometimes to get a shirt, pants or jacket but I really like the quality of their clothes. I don’t buy any of their jeans anymore because of the 10” inch rise. That seems to be the norm these days. I’m in my 50’s now so I believe a 11” rise is more appropriate and fit is better too.. I’m rambling aren’t I ? lol..

By the way, the rockafella jacket that i indirectly bought from you is so beautiful! I wear it a lot so it is showing lots of character

Thanks. I guess I’m just curious when I see a jacket that is near-perfect for sale, if I can/should factor in the cost to get it slimmed to fit better.

I agree about Gustin jeans. After buying their stuff for a decade, I finally gave up a few years ago. Bad QC, long waits and the short rise is a deal breaker for me as well. I prefer 12” to 13”, these days. I also found their straight fit to be a bit too slim in the thighs.

That’s awesome you’ve got the Rocka now. I’d love to see how it’s doing.

Where do you get your 12” to 13” rise jeans? I ended up going the less expensive rout, wrangler cowboy cut that are 11.5 “ rise ..really like them but I could easily do the higher rise.
Thanks for saying that about the rockafella jacket. It was kinda tight fitting until I wore the crap out of it. Now it is perfect..I always wanted that jacket. The style is so unlike anything else and I get compliments from the older woman lol. I will post some pictures at some point.

Orslow are good for high rise jeans (12”) that are straight/not baggy.

I also did a custom Luxire order for ecru jeans with a 13” rise:

Does the lining make a big difference on the A2? I ordered me one with quilted lining, not aware of that. Later I found out theres models with polytwill lining. Isn't quilted lining for winter jackets? And polytwill more for spring/fall? Guess with quilted lining I don't need to onion up and can just wear a t-shirt underneath, hmm.
