The Fedora is basically the same hat, with a different bash & a bound brim

Wait, the Fedora has an open crown and an unbound brim. It's also reported to be made of Imperial quality fur, but is softer because they pick the softest bits of the Imperial and make use that for the Fedora.

I don't really like the Fedora, it's too short. Then again, I probably shouldn't have shaped it into a teardrop. At any rate, it's the softest "weed-picking" hat that I own.

sorry, I see that you are correct.

All the Fedoras at my local shop are bashed on the stand. The hatter is happy to rebash them for customers but I guess folks off the street will try them on when they can see how the hat will look once it's bashed. Most are probably unaware that you can change the bash on a hat anyway and assume that those open crown hats are to be worn that way! :)

Hey, at least you have a local shop.

Very nice VitaminG, I may have to get one of those Stylemasters. I already have one each of your other accessories there. :) Looks like your having a nice family outing.

Scion and MikeyP, thanks for the pics. Those Stylemasters look fantastic!

Why do you ask?
That's No Fun!

Sorry to hear your hat's hung up!

I'm waiting on a hat that should be here any day. Not an Akubra, but a canvas Barmah I bought for sun protection. [Mine went through Santa Clarita.]

I'm sorry to ask again, but could I see a picture taken of yourself with your head facing the camera (pretty close), all the while wearing a moonstone Stylemaster? This will really help me determine whether or not I will actually buy it. The idea is, I want to be able to see it straight on someone's face, while trying to picture my own in a similar angle.

I've really enjoyed pictures of them shown so far though, it looks like it's a great fedora.

Great Campdraft, Neophyte, and that's some nice crease-work! I'm sure that Taupe Fawn color will go well with the rest of your earth-tone clothing as well.

P.S. You're not planning on trimming this one too, right? :D
It's a good brim width for that sort of hat, and it looks fine. Would you agree?

I might, just to piss of GTDean lol .

No, I'm liking it. It's more country-looking than fedora looking, but I suppose I can get over that. It's a brimmed hat, after all, which is better than the alternative.

It works well with jeans and jackets, too, which is great since I'm going to college in a week or so. With that brim width I've got a solid "weather hat".

Thanks, JB. I hope your search for the Stylemaster/next hat goes well!

You did well Neophyte! It looks very good! :eusa_clap

Thank you very much! It's my best bash yet, if the compliments from my fellow Loungers are anything to go by (and they are!). I really liked the look of Mr. E's silverbelly, and I kinda tried to copy it :) . I'm just glad I've got another hat, I was getting tired of posting the Squatter all the time lol.

You've done an excellent job. The proportions look right for your face shape, too.

Thank you for that one, Dundee! That's exactly what I needed, actually; a photograph taken in that manner. That's the Acorn Fawn color, isn't it?
It is. It is more of a tanish color that the greenish showing up in the picture I posted. I am wearing it in my avitar.

"I got a call from "OUTBACK RED" they had been sent a sample of "Moonstone" felt from the factory her in Australia, it was not quite as light as the Shop owner remembered it, but I have placed an order, it will be ready by November hopefully in time for Melbourne Cup day $130.00 (AU) I paid a $50.00 deposit."

http://www.outbackred.com.au/ I used to go to "Top Hatters" but the shop girls they have now are clueless, and lazy!! OUTBACK RED go the extra mile in Customer service

I had a look at the Stylemaster in Moonstone today and it is darker than I recall. Am reconsidering my options now, particularly after dry bashing a Taupe Fawn CD into a fedora.
