Aero jacket identification request: wool varsity style aeromarine?

What is the purpose of a front drop? I am ordering a custom original hercules from aero and trying to decide whether to have the standard front drop from that model which is 2 inches or have it reduced to 1 inch.
Id love to hear others opinions on that, cause my vocabulary for its effect is limited and i actually have very few drop front jackets (or good photos) to reference quickly. The amount of shoulder.to waist taper, and how it tapers (tapers to the hips or tapers to the waist and then flairs back out), combined with a straight cut or front dropped bottom has a big impact on how dynamic the jacket looks and where the emphasis is on body shape. The straight side zero drop sashiko detail jacket here makes my body look tubular and kinda weird.... like.... bloated...., where the storm rider makes my shoulders look large and muscular. Then the cherubim single rider/half belt makes me look more 1950s athletic build, it stretches the torso out and interacts more with the pants as a single unit rather than creating a stark seperation line like with the storm rider.

I see, thank you for your insight. Good observation, i have always wondered as to why some jackets have front drops. That is why when i wear my aero highwayman zipped, it looks boxy and tubular like you mentioned because it has a straight hem.
