Aero Half Belt Delux Vs Thedi MTC 10075

So I have oddly never owned either of these brands but I saw this half belt delux on Grailed or maybe it was here, anyhow it had a mouton collar and mouton lining and it just looked really cool and unique and I just always thought if I got an Aero I’d get that. I got to custom building it on the website and I’d get it in black Vicenza I believe. I also saw a thedi mtc 10075 in black was fairly similar with the mouton collar but not sheep lined and no cargo pockets, or whatever they are referred to. They are both very nice and I’m considering ordering one. I’m curious what people who have owned both can say about quality, customer service, fit finish qualit. It looks like thedi is quite a bit more money.

They're both great quality.

I'd go with the Aero especially if you are going for warmth.

The cinch strap cuffs on the Aero is not a standard customization option, but I think that's a cool looking jacket.

I agree, you can’t go wrong with either jacket. The Aero HB Deluxe has really caught my eye of late, not that I need a “winter” leather jacket, but I really like some of those details on the version you posted. I may use this as inspiration for a future build as I need to move along my current OG Hercules as it’s the last jacket I ever reach for and the fit was never right in the hem for me.

In the meantime, I have recently put down an order for a custom Thedi Idas via Thurston, so I’m excited for that one as I’ve wanted to get Thedi’s horsehide for years now.

Hi I own an Aero HBD since novembre 2022. It's not a super warm jacket in my opinion because the hem is really wide (like all half-belt jackets) and so I often feel the wind going inside the jacket from the bottom...
I'm a true size 36 and my HBD hem is 20 inches when i like to wear 18/17 inches hem to avoid the wind problem.
Yet i f you take your true size you will be able to wear a thick hoody under it or a thick vest + a heavy flannel / pull-over but don't go on a too short back length.
On itself the jacket looks amazing in my opinion, it has very low armholes which reduces the range of movement but is perfect for layering for cold weather and avoid to suffocate when it's hot.

I owned jackets by both makers.

The Thedi will look like a 10 year old jacket from Day 1, in a good artistic kind of way. I am convinced Theodoros has pictures of vtg Chevignon jackets hanging in his workshop that inspire his creations. My Thedi was very comfortable but I felt too self conscious in it, just not me.

The Aero jacket will look like a 20 year old jacket after 1 year of wear. Mine werent comfortable to wear for me, caused me neck pain due to pattern issues not compatible with my body. If you get the Aero, make sure ahead the pattern works for you.

Get either of them only if you are into that elevated vintage look. Both will last for life.
