I'm in the fit process with Carrie for a Plainsman and received my fit jacket yesterday (Blue Vicenza Sunburst). The 30's HB family of jackets work best for my frame and especially my upper back/shoulder area. Carrie sent this Sunburst for body fit and as far as that is concerned I am happy (as is Carrie).

Understanding the sleeves are far too short and this being a fit jacket only, what do you recommend for adjustments for my finalized Plainsman order? Sleeve length, body length/width and whatever else please let me know. Many thanks in advance!

I’m 6’3” with a 33.5” inseam which results in a slightly longer than normal torso. Shirts are made with a 36.5” sleeve. The fit jacket specs:
Sunburst:

Back length--26.25 inches
Sleeve length--26.5 inches
Pit-to-pit--23.25 inches
Shoulder--19 inches
Waist/bottom hem--21.5 inches
Front length--23.75 inches

I would recommend an extra 1.5 or 2 inches in the sleeve, depending on how you prefer your jacket sleeve length (I’m a guy with gorilla arms so I always prefer a sleeve that’s a tad too long rather than a smidgen too short).
The body looks pretty good (perhaps an added inch or so in front?); back length looks fine and the shoulder width lines up pretty squarely on your frame.

Must be the cut of the jacket as that will put my sleeve length 3/4” longer than my now sold Sheene but I agree. May have the front and back length also extended 1.5 inches.

Yes just as @thor has already stated the sleeves need darn near 2” imho. Body length with those trousers looks good to me. If your other pants are similar rise I wouldn’t lengthen the body. Plus the drop front could make it too long. I made this mistake on my 30’s HB. Never liked it much for that very reason.

Thinking my overall view of the fit jacket may be skewed by the sleeve length being so short. Thanks for sharing your input based on ordering too long.

Yeah that dropped front can sneak up on you and make the jacket too long real quick. The sleeves for sure need to be longer. Not sure I’d mess with the body length.

Been there, done that and sold an otherwise perfect jacket except the front was a bit too long.

Fit overall ok but the short sleeves are throwing the whole look off. Why not measure you’re favourite jacket sleeve length and ask for that. For me, the first knuckle of the thumb is my preference but you might like a bit shorter or longer.

Leave the body as it is. It's perfect with the jeans you are wearing and also has enough additional length over the belt to be wearable over lower waist jeans.. back reaches the top end of your backpockets, I think that's spot on what many consider perfect around here.

Sleeve length has all been said about. Add 1-2" depending on personal preference.

Couldn't agree more! Seen many jackets that looked ok in back length but were too long in the front, but have never seen a jacket that looked good in front length that wasn't good in back length too.

I wouldn't do that, to me this jacket is already on the edge of being too long in the body.
I don't think this kind of jacket should reach below your back pockets.
Like others have said, 1 or 2 inches added to the sleeves depending on your preference and it should be perfect!

I agree. 2" more on the sleeves for sure.

Thanks Coop and HD first knuckle of the thumb is about 2.5" and measures out nicely.

I definitely don't want to sell yet another "perfectly good jacket" due to my sizing inputs as I have done recently with a Lost Worlds Suburban and an Aero Sheene. I now realize another 1.5" added to the front and back lengths would lead me right back to the sadly familiar territory of being on the selling side of the classifieds as well as "the Bay". Thanks for your collective guidance!
