A pro shop. No flavor of the month here...

Great shop Art... I like the Vermont Casting wood burning stove... Nice color. I'm glad you are doing so well. You are the talk of the internet!!:D

Well, I injured my back and it's restricted my movements some.

And yes that is a formillion or something like that. It told me what a strange shaped head I've got.

wow wow wow wow wow wow wow

Art,

This is the the nicest shop, that I have ever seen. The other one didn't have floors, walls, ceilings or even indoor plumbing...

You must post more pics of this truly classy workshop of a true artist.

What?? don't like "James" the guard dummy?

I'm stunned..he's the ladies man don'tcha know!!
Thanks for the compliments guys, we've worked hard to put together a shop that is both comfortable for me and fun to be in AND put the hats in settings that they deserve. All of the furniture ( with only a couple of exceptions) is antique, the big showcase dates around 1890, the ribbon dressors are 40's, side cabiniets are '20s, even the flange racks are antiques. We built the place to give an "old time" feel...somewhat like I would envision a TOC hat shop would look like. Now, if I could only get the pile of boxes ( yes, YOUR hats) whittled down so I can walk easier life will be great!!
WEEGEE, what you see in the case is a REAL conformer dating to the late 1800s and is the best you can get for fitting hats. THe formillion is it's companion piece that transforms the shaped card that this produces into an exact duplicate of your head shape. Doesn't leave the shop though..:)

Coincidence?

I enjoyed seeing these pictures today. A much nicer
work space than he had at the old Vintage Silhouettes
(either Rodeo or Crockett, I imagine, though I never
saw more than a storage room in Crockett).

Just after I had a look at these photos, the phone rings.
It's Art, calling to talk about the hat I asked him to
renovate for me.

Now that's what I call service.
