Hi gents,
Back again to clear out another hat from the collection.
For your consideration is a Stetson Royal Deluxe in the classic "Open Road" style, being of light beige in color, thin of ribbon, and rather wide brimmed. The felt is just buttery soft to the hand, and can be molded into whatever crease you prefer. The sweatband itself has some minor cracking at the top inside edge, but, is still quite secure and quite wearable as is; it could be easily conditioned and worn for many more years without issue. Other than some very light staining on the bound edge and the wind trolley (which could be remedied with a light cleaning), it's completely free of imperfections, with no mothing or other damage whatsoever.
This was one I bought ages ago and never really wore much so, it's just been stored in the box for most of the years that I've owned it.

Measurements:

Brim: 2 3/4ths inches
Ribbon: 1/2 inch
Crown: 4 3/4ths inches
Sweatband: 1 3/8ths inches

Asking $150+shipping from St Louis Missouri

I’m generally a round oval, is there a lot of difference with a long oval? Still fairly new to this.
This was something I had to look into. When comparing two hats of the same size, it appears that a long oval hat takes roughly 3/16 to 1/4 of an inch off the width, and adds that exact same amount to the length. The total circumference remains the same though.

Hope this helps.

That absolutely helps, thanks!

The classifieds feature of this forum is horrible. I've searched for 7 1/4 every month and never caught this listing ... No surprise, I found it today at the bottom of the page after a ton of listings from 2025 and earlier (I'm guessing I just never scrolled far enough as none of the listings it returned were new).

I'm pretty much set on Open Roads but may have interest in other 7 1/4s you have if/when you decide to pass them on. Keep me in mind!

I totally agree about the search function! I wish you could set some type of filters or something for the classifieds.

I'm sure I have a few 7 1/4s I'm probably going to be looking to sell here before too long. What styles/colors are you looking for?

Lol, great question. I think green and pearl grey hats are the biggest hole in my collection. Other than that it'd kinda have depend on the hat you know? I have enough lids now that I like wearing that I don't really "need" anything specific.
