Hi Jonathan, I appreciate the offer but I think I'm going to hold on to this one. Also, the sleeves are probably too short for you, as you say you need at least 26 inches, these are only 25.5. Hope you find what your looking for. BTW, if you do decide to sell your black Brimaco, give me a shout. :)
Its been a while since I've had leather in my closet, so I chose to remedy the situation. I picked up a beautiful 60s brown British Cycle Leathers cafe racer. I had a black one last year but it ended up being too large. This ones made of thicker and heavier leather than I've usually seen with...
A quick look tells me that they are not the same style jacket. The first one looks a tanker jacket with the collar folded downwards, the second jacket could be anything really, but it has a tailored collar.
If cost is not an issue, and you wish to continue using the jacket as a daily wearer, go for the Eastman, 100%. The detail and workmanship is astounding. I've got one of the (now discontinued) goatskin Cable A-2s and its stunning.
As new ELC Irvin size 44extra long, impulse purchase late last year but didn't fit like I thought it would, worn maybe 3 times.
Asking 550.00
pit to pit: 25.5 inches
back legth (collar seam to bottom): 27
shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 21
shoulder seam to end of cuff: 28 inches
Eastman makes a "motoring" jacket which would pass for WW1 RFC pretty easily. Keep and eye on ebay too, occasionally some nice jackets come up for decent prices that would pass for RFC, some with, somewithout mouton collars.
My girlfriend and I are big into waterfall style furniture. Shes always wanted a waterfall vanity since she was little and we found one a month or so ago in an antique/junk shop in Parry Sound. We almost missed it, it was buried in the back under numerous other pices of furniture. It was dusty...
Wow! Lookin good there guys. Sorens is his Aero repro, Andrews is original, and I'm fairly sure Paddys is his size 6 or 7 original that he picked up as a set with a pair of matching trousers several months back.
Sounds good to me, I'm 6'3 and 27 inch back length is best for my height, while still preserving the short look of the jackets. 26 inches for your 6'1 height should be just fine.
Baggy, I did that to my previous Irvin as well, darkened up the fresh-cut edges of the seam tapes nicely. Applied it 6 months ago and the tapes are still dark. Spitty, I'll try and get some pics ASAP.
Received my new 1942 pattern Irvin from Eastman a few days ago. I upsized from my previous one, which was a 42long to a 44 extra long. When I first tried on the jacket I thought I had mad a big mistake as it seemed massive in comparison but after a few days of wear I think I've achieved the fit...
