A superfino from PanamaBob
A superfino from PanamaBob. When I opened the box I was breathless - the hat didn't meet my expectations, it exceeded them. I was absolutely thrilled.
I ordered it 'hand blocked in Ecuador' and the blocking also surpassed my expectations, being much 'crisper' than...
Man, o man you're making me jealous Delectans - first that stunning vintage Stetson panama over in the Panama Canal thread, now this stunning VS in granite. Very nice indeed.
Agreed. That is definitely one sharp panama you've got there Delectans - which no doubt comes with a good bit of history in addition to its sharp looking character.
I second both of Coble's notions:
Both hats look stunning.
And you should definitely post a shot of each of those sharp looking ribbons in the 'Art's Ribbon Gallery' thread.
This thread is indeed a great idea. And I definitely believe the number of people posting pics in it will continue to grow. I think we just need to spread a little more word/remind folks about a little...
I'm in the process of ordering my first piece of Art-work (just sent the conformer...
WooHoo, I'm in the queue! My first piece of Art-work is no longer a matter of 'if', merely a matter of 'when'. Can't wait for the conformer and swatch samples to head my way...
I'm still pretty new to FLS but, if I had to guess, I'd say the Conversion Corral thread is probably the place to post them. Although it started out as a place to post conversions to western styles, it seems to have evolved into the place to post/talk about any...
If you're considering doing any additional/serious reshaping yourself I would recommend using steam instead of spritzing it with water...
I picked up a straw panama (a Cuenca I suspect, not really sure though) in Savannah and got hit by a torrential downpour not 2 hours later. The hat...
Thanks for the additional pics Rodkins. Between your photos and C-C's, I definitely think the Rio Plata is the way I'll be going. I'm a lean 5' 10" with a square shaped face and, after seeing it from several angles, believe the slightly narrow brim of the Rio (vs. Caballero) will probably be...
Hi Rodkins, I take this is the Rio Plata (hard to tell if it's the Rio or the Caballero w/o a full shot of the crown)? I ask because I too am considering either a Rio Plata or Caballero and glad of finally be able to see a few pics of one of them at different angles.
Either way, very nice!
