That's exactly how I've been wearing my BGCD. I've had it for a couple of years now, and it seems to like that slight upturn in the front. Probably my favorite felt.
That's a useful distinction. When I worked in the corporate world some years ago, the process you're describing at Ede & Ravenscroft was pretty much the standard way of getting a suit made. I've noticed, however, that stores offering the same service these days are describing it as "bespoke."
Does anyone know if those Wilson's jackets were made by the same company that made baseball gloves and other sports equipment back in the '50's and '60's? I've always wondered about that.
I just announced today in my Gothic Lit class that I'll be showing this movie in a couple of weeks. When I asked if anyone had seen it I got zero response. Then again, if I asked who Santa Claus was I'd get the same thing.
An artist friend who was from Belgium once went with me and pointed out that the light out there in the winter had a purplish tinge to it. I'd never really thought about it, but I realized he was right. This was right before we almost got busted in the Magic Forest.
One of Art Blakey's musicians once told me that Louis had the worst weed in the music business. He said it was "cheap New Awlin's s***, practically legal."
Man. I really miss the way the light looks in N.J. at this time of year. Even when I lived in the city, I used to take the Jersey Central out to Scotch Plains and then walk up to the Watchung Mountains in the snow. And only about a half hour from N.Y.
I'm with you, BB, except that I've never gotten over the suspicion that computers are basically evil, being based upon an idea that reduces out glorious universe to a 0 and a 1. This is why digital music sucks.
You're right: you can get absolutely lost in them. Last summer I became interested and went through all the Russian watches on Ebay (took a while) and started wondering if there were any in the Constructivist style, but I only saw one or two, and because I know almost nothing about vintage...
I still can't get over this one. IMHO, this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing jackets I've ever seen. Normally I can't stand any kind of distressing, but this seems perfect. This is a guy who really loves and understands what he's doing.
Just don't wear 'em around airports or you'll have some new doggie friends. Going through security would be fun. Reminds me of the last time I was leaving Amsterdam and, while waiting in the security line, I suddenly realized.... Interesting flight.
