I believe "back in the day" that black suits were common. The Sears Roebuck catalog sold them in heavy wool, and they were referred to as "Sunday" suits.
I thought the film very good. Too bad Denzel and Russ didn't have more interaction.
I read they got their scene, together in prison, on the first take!
I fired one a few years ago when I worked for the FBI.
Now, I'm a big strong guy at 6 feet 235 lbs. It was very heavy but when I fired it on full auto the thing had noticeable lift. If I hadn't been warned ahead of time the barrel would have gone straight up and knocked me on my tukus.
If you have a virtual planetoid for a head, and need a nice lid for it then you're in luck.
25" Long Oval (7 7/8) Adventurebilt with an Indy bash for sale. Excellent condition.
Selling 'cause it was always a bit too snug for me and I have another on order.
Email for pics if seriously...
Just wanted to add my two cents and comment on Rooster's look. Being a westerner myself, now consigned to live in Florida while I take care of aging in-laws, I wear my jaxonbilt cavalry hat most days while working around the house and taking care of our horses...
You're welcome. What is the Fedora Lounge for expect to turn fellow enthusiasts on to cool little shops and other people?! Check out Jaxonbilt Hat Co for another quality operation. Just have plenty of patience since he's very much in demand.
Another great hatter I've come across is this guy:

I received the Cavalry hat a couple of months ago and the quality is first rate. He's very popular so he's very busy, so expect to wait the better part of a year.
Ordered a lid Dec. 19, 2006 and was told about three weeks ago I can expect it by the end of the year.
His schedule is slowly returning to normal now after doing Indy 4, but watch out after the movie comes out....
The first two discs arrived from Netflix today. I plan to watch them over the weekend. I had forgotten about the very young Indy Jones. I assumed it would be the older teenage actor. Ah well, I'm looking forward to it nonetheless...
That's intriguing, I would have thought the heavy wool and cottons would have held moisture and persperation like there was no tomorrow. What about the leather boots?!
I work as a writer in advertising, and I gotta say that the copywriting in Powell's catalog just rocks. If you don't buy anything from them and appreciate good ad copy you should request to be put on their mailing list.
Brief example: "These trousers....are beautifully crafted and equally...
I'm sure Fawcett lids are great, it's just that I saw this hat and additional pictures in the catalog and thought it was almost exactly what I looking for in terms of shape, color, etc.
"How would you folks react to a gritty boxing TV series? You know, on HBO, Showtime - definitely a cable piece. Something you might watch?"
+1 for me. I'd watch it. Would it be a period piece or modern?
Anyone see The Hurricane with Denzel Washington? I read an interview with him in Men's Vogue, probably the best men's magazine out there, and it made me want to rent it.
On their website they list the Montana Drover Hat:

For the price it seems a bit steep, but it looks nicer in the catalog than on the web. I was thinking I might go for it but was wondering if anyone...
I vaguely remember watching them as a young kid, and I ordered the box set yesterday, so I know what I'll be doing this weekend....
Should be interesting, I hope they've held up over the years....
If you're up in Canada there's a company I've done business with that makes a lot of hats for western films, among them Lonesome Dove. Check these guys out:

They even have a section on the website called Masters of Rodeo with rodeo specific lids...
