Just watched this last night on DVD. Glad I caught it in the theaters though, it's one you need to see on the big screen to appreciate the opulent costumes and sets.
Anything done by Ridley Scott, count me in for opening day! Though being a direct descendent of King John I always cringe to see portrayals of an evil guy I'm related to!

IMHO I would stay away from a silver buckle, I find them kind of cheesy. Just a simple, subtle ribbon in matching or contrasting color is the way to go for a sophisticated evening or "dress" look.

Well I feel your pain: I have a 7 7/8, and even worse a Long Oval shape which is impossible to fit off the rack. Luckily I discovered a great custom guy that sent me a conformer kit years ago and I've been a happy man ever since.
Just rented this movie and watched it for the first time today. Really enjoyed it. The fact that it takes place in my favorite time period (1928-1938) and starred one of my favorite actors Denzel Washington made it even better. Loved the clothes and the hats too.
