Jeez Paddy, tell us what you really think!:D Of course I agree with you. It's the small details that count as most of us here would agree, and there's something very American about assuming that a new pair of shoes would "classier" or more respectful. Unghh, Ack! Pfft.
For me the preference for new only applies to clothes.
I collect vintage straight razors for example and just love the feeling of history that comes with them. One of my razors was made prior to the American Civil War and I just love the fact that I can still use it today.
My personal opinion is no, you do not wear suspenders with Khakis.
I don't object to the casual nature of the pant since many casual trousers can be worn with suspenders, but IMHO that combo just doesn't work.
I actually prefer modern products with a vintage "vibe" to them. All my suits are vested, I wear suspenders, favor fedoras, etc. Growing up poor as I did, I have an aversion to second hand shops, clothes and the like.
I certainly will lol
Thanks for the welcome, guys.......now to keep from buying a bowler.... ;)
Welcome to the coolest forum on the web. Don't even try to resist the temptation of a new hat, whether it's a new bowler, new Open Road, Indy hat, or anything else. "You have no idea the power of...

At the risk of dating myself, what or who is an "emo?"
One of my favorite authors, Robert B. Parker, had a living arrangement with his wife where he had the lower half of the house, and she had the top half. It seemed to work out well for both of them and they were happily married until he passed away earlier this year.
I don't think so. I've read some press about the movie being "Oscar" material, and Bill Murray's role might get a Best Supporting Actor nod. We'll see.
I agree about all modern cowboy hats looking the same these days. I have three cowboy hats, all made my Jaxonbilt, and they're all different which is what I love about them. No one would pick one of my hats up "by mistake."
That was my experience as well, except of course I'd get women that were "not so much."
Gotta disagree with you about being single though. Life, like dancing, is best with a partner :)
At the risk of being judgmental and sexist at the same time, I've always thought tattoos on men were fine, but I don't like them on women.
I have a couple, but I don't have any public ones on display like on the neck for example, which has become something of a trendy fad which I don't get...
