I have three Jaxonbilt hats, one that is 50X, and two that are 100x. I wore the 50x during a two week survival course in the Utah desert with high heat during the day, really cold temperatures at night, rain, etc, in short everything that the elements could throw at it and it still looks almost...
I'm enjoying this one as well. Very unique time period and subject matter that I'm not familiar with. In general my interest in modern period dramas starts in the late 1920's early 30's, but this series is holding my attention and the production values are excellent.
Interesting thread.
My closest friendship is one I've had for 20+ years, but otherwise no, I don't have a lot of friends. I'm friendly and know a lot of people, but I'm not really social in the sense of being an extrovert. When in a relationship I enjoy giving a dinner party and cooking for...
What would happen if people decided Basil Rathbone was the only Holmes worth watching and missed out on Brett? I saw the latest Hollywood production and it completely won me over, so you might want to keep an open mind. And yes, I belong to the Baker Street Irregulars and have been a hardcore...
Never heard of this one, but would love to see it. I love gaslights and horse-drawn carriages as much as anyone, but I'm one that believes Sherlock would be Sherlock in any era. Technologies come and go, but human nature remains.
Any idea when it might come to the states?
Went to see The Girl Who Played with Fire, the move adaptation of Stieg Larsson's book. Excellent, as was the first movie adaptation.
I just cringe when I think Hollywood is making their own English language version (La Femme Nikita anyone?). But then again, if anyone can pull it off, David...
Get Low finally opened here in N. Nevada, and I went to see the matinee this morning. REALLY enjoyed it.
I thought all the performances were terrific, and the hats and wardrobe are definitely worth checking out for the Loungers. Nothing the actors wore looked new or "designed", especially...
I agree with you. Generations of families living under one roof was the norm, and for the record I relocated to look after aging parents, so I'm not judging anyone for living at home (all things being equal).
MikeBravo: Life is strange. It gives us the test first, and the lesson after
No testimony without the test.
Also, I think people internalize things a bit much in a bad economy which is an external, objective circumstance. Unless someone has serious mental or emotional problems, or is just...
Love Miller's Crossing. Didn't discover it until a few years ago, but now I watch it at least once a year. I use all kinds of phrases from the movie, like "giving me the high hat," and "what's the rumpus?" Classic.

To be honest though, I'd only want to fly with the one's who are like that. I just don't want to be married to one, God love 'em, bless their hearts.
No weekend pilots for me please when I'm up in the air.
I came perilously close to marrying a pilot, before I realized she was more in love with flying and always would be. Tough to compete with that. She's happily married to her job now and prefers it that way, and I can't bake a chocolate cake worth diddly...
I think it's fine for the woman to make the first move, though I don't believe it's necessary. Depends on the mix of other factors, like if a guy is naturally shy and just needs a nudge from a more extroverted woman.
