It would make it much easier to get one! I'd be surprised, though, as it'd be so far off their business model, and Ken has never been keen on chasing the celebrity association angle for publicity (despite having some serious hard-hitters as regular customers). TBh, I find this refreshing in...
It definitely has the look of RRL to it. I know Depp has also worn Aero in the past, but this isn't close enough to any Aero model I've ever seen to be one of those, nor does it have any sense of their house style.
On the plane yesterday, I watched Babylon. It's an interesting picture that falls into the 'Hollywood films about Hollywood" genre. It's not as clever or funny as Hail Caesar, though equally it's not unsufferably smug and also poorly plotted as La La Land. I'm sure the real experts will find...
Risque for its time, certainly. It would be interesting to know more about the writers' intent; around 1969, there was a whole new generation of GIs impregnating local girls, this time in Vietnam, as depicted - in a far from comic manner - decades later in Miss Saigon.
So, the dear old Rocky Horror Show (no 'Picture' - this is the stage musical, not the film which followed therefrom) turns 50 in June 2023, and so the Powers That Be decreed that 25th May would be the night on which they would host a Gala Performance to celebrate the old girl. The Master...
It is a quick favourite - I'll definitely buy more from Albert Prendergast. Slightly warmer than our favourites from Samuel Windsor's previous incarnation, but not too much so for this time of year. It's a wool-cotton mix, so it has a much nicer texture than the manmade fabrics that a lot of the...
I like these a lot - the perfect blend of a bit of bling, but not "too much" for day to day wear.
These are something else! I've never seen a pointed toe quite like that before - really distinctive.
Love these. One of the closest I've seen to the pair Meatloaf wore in Rocky Horror Picture...
My last order from them was last July - one of their newer model of scratch-made Indy bags. Very nice indeed. I initially thought it might be too small (especially with that internal divider), but while it's too small for an A4 magazine, it's perfect for a novel, camera, phone, mp3 player...
Back in the arly mid eighties, doubtless largely as a result of the same, CB Radio was quite the fad in parts of the UK, Ireland and Europe. Looking back, it was very much a forerunner of online social media. My cousin got a CB from our grandmother for passing his eleven plus, as then did I in...
Oddly enough, the only, better leather jacket I ever had that did this was also in cordovan Horween CXL FQHH - my Aero Bootlegger. Never had it with other colours in the same leather. For me it stopped as the jacket broke in over time; I think a Pecarding also helped.
The black one in that photo is a standard HWM, but with the yoke front instead of plain front with breast zip pocket. The latter (in the reddish shade in your photos) is what you'll get if you order a standard Highwayman with no variation in spec, so watch out for that if the former is what you...
Aero's goat would be an excellent hide for that sort of design (and probably closer the sort of heft 30s-50s originals were made from than a hefty steer or horse). Capeskin I suspect would be just a little too lacking in boy to look quite right - I think that's why Wested's copy of the Aero...
The Undertones were of course from 'Stroke City' itself - officially nowadays referred to as "DerryLondonderry", so there are probably a couple of interpretations of that available. ;)
Nice to see some full leather ones. I've wanted one for a long time, but I'd been holding off until I lost weight - which I now have. I think I want to get up there and try one on first - though I might also have a nosey into Bolt London (an Aero stockist near home) and see if they have any to...
As an aside, you'll often see these (and a few other, similar British jackets) show up on an eBay search for "Aero", as those distinctive 'coffin' puller zips that were used on quite a few British bike jacket brands in that period were branded Aero zips - nothing to do with Aero Leather...
Yes. This is a Mascot Black Night (no K). Mascot were made in Britain between the late fifties and the late eighties (like so many brands, they rose and fell in a wave just behind the rise and fall of the British motorcycle industry itself).
The key Mascot signature touch here is the left...
I'm such an irregular smoker, I realised when I dropped in to my regular supplier (Seagar's Snuff Parlour, Covent Garden) a couple of weeks ago, it was about four years since I'd last been in. Alas, in that time their supplier has stopped making the basic ingredients they needed for their custom...
A few months ago, I picked up a couple of Bronson repro A3 mechanic's caps via eBay. Having now had the chance to wear those and enjoy them, in a moment of madness I also decided to risk trying a denim Daisy May. I don't as a rule like bucket hats, but the DM has niggled ta me for a long time as...
A second outing for the red blazer last night, to see the divine Nell Campbell give her one-woman show, All's Nell that ends Nell at the Trafalgar Theatre on Whitehall. Nell was very enthused by the blazer, which was nice.
