Oh! That is interesting. Not seen that before, but assume it's based on a period original idea? Great, practical concept, presumably from the days before dry-cleaning...
Better shot of the Daisy May:
I'm really pleased with this one. I have two Bronson A3 caps I bought on a bit of a whim (they seem to be identical to the ones in the Luctece website, down to the same mistake in the logo transfer - they read "Army Air Force" instead of "Army Air Forces", which...
A quick run into the office this morning to pick up a bunch of post. Wearing this Lutece "Hickory Stripe Slugger Cap Spitfire Hot Rod Rockabilly Railroad Vintage Nose Art", as they snappily call it on their website. Bought it last year, it's become something of a favourite. Could be improved by...
Good call. I' not familiar with who the presenter is - looks like a judge on a television show? - but if I'm reading the shot right, it looks like product placement is a thing here, so the clothing may well be part of that, and they might well list it in the credits. (Here in the UK PP is...
Looks like a fairly standard Type 3, though those extra seams / stitching on the upper chest are probably a dead giveaway to someone familiar with the brand. Somebody much more techie than I could probably sharpen the image and zoom in on the buttons - I'd be very surprised if they don't have an...
You can't beat a priest with a sense of humour! Just tell him "That would be an ecumenical matter, Father." ;)
I knew I was getting old when I stopped being please the Saturday night film was on BBC (no ads), and moved to ITV because I knew I'd need the pee break and didn't want to miss...
I'm not aware of anything that says it's not a single take. I loved what they did with Joel in the final series. I always thought he was a drip; about midway through the last series, there's a point where he actually doesn't something very selfless that leads ultimately to him doing time in...
In my experience, it's standard practice for A2 reproducers to put a small label with their own details on inside one of the pockets, typically underneath the flap or the pocket edge. I'd check round there to see if Rainbow Country follow suit.
A lot of the popular criticism of Season 4 pushed the narrative that it was getting "too serious", so it's possible they dialled that up to address that. I thought the closing device (the empty sets) was cute - I'm sure I've seen it done before, but can't recall where.
That run at UNCLE was a great picture - a real shame they never made any more. I think it did well enough at the box office, but I have a feeling one of the leads got caught up in some scandal or other that knocked back its momentum. Pity.
The Paddington films are beautifully done. Mrs Marlowe cried at the start of the first one, and the end of the second. I enjoyed them both. Both pictures are very well translated from the source material - the second deviates more in terms of new story, but the whole is very true to the spirit...
I recently finished the last episode of The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. I'm in the camp that enjoyed the final series. The flash-forward sequences were a little jarring at first, but by the end made sense. I liked that we got to know Susie a lot more in this series - while enough was left still to...
Oh! Now that is useful to know - I hadn't actually twigged to that from the form. That makes the felt hats also very attractive; the darker green especially appeals in the felt too.
Thanks, I'll definitely look into that!
It's the other colours that have caught my eye. Easy enough to find nice natural-hued straw types over here; browns, blues, greens - not so much. Does seem the colours are more popular with more US LEAs from what I see online, though - I suppose because...
A Few films on the plane home today. The most notable for these parts would be the 1930s-set Invitation to a Murder. It's a bit sub-'And then there were none' but a perfectly pleasant watch nonetheless, with some nice wardrobe, albeit some of the bits (the American journalist's wardrobe in...
Interesting idea. It was lockdown was odd for me - I think I went several months without wearing a tie at one point - but it hasn't changed how I dress since going back to normal. I do miss the mask, though. I had a few filtered masks with a leather shell, varied between a steam punk abd a...
Yeah, used to be GBP16 for VAT, I think.... As I recall, last time I ordered something in from the US (which I haven't since the pound dropped down the u -bend in 2016), it was:
import tax at 4.5% - on the cost of the item *and* the shipping
Then VAT at 20% on top of that total.
In 2008...
