Schitz, I guess I'm missing the drift of this. You've said you know how it works. You understate the value on the CN23. What else is there to know?
And I was not being ironic when I used the word fool (I sense sarcasm in your "fiend" & "scoundrel"). I genuinely think it is a stupid thing to do.
Works the same in both directions.
It is the responsibility of the sender to fill in the Customs Declaration correctly. The authorities on both sides have the authority to open parcels to check them - and sometimes they do. And if you need to make any claim for a lost or damaged parcel, the...
I get lots of stuff from the US. Some of it is marked with lower values, and as you say, it will avoid customs. I never request this. Some senders just do it.
It really depends on how much you want the thing in the parcel, and how much it is worth to you. Because if it gets lost in the mail...
I'm not an expert, but I have seen at least one of these - in a size far too small for me.
Wrangler did a whole lot of different stuff back in the 80's, so it could be from then.
A very nice jacket:D;)
My mistake. Just had a closer look, and it DOES have concealed backing buttons between the two layers of hide. My apologies for not looking properly!:eeek:
I'm honestly not sure, breton. It looks very similar to the hide that my last Aero A2 was made from (and is weathering in the same...
Some discussion on other threads about the Aeromarine, and the hide it is made from - and how good it is - or not...
Well here is my experience after around a month wearing one of the first Aeromarines to be produced.
First a comparison shot of the (mid weight HH) hide as it was when I bought...
Nah, the race is still on.....Shinki VS Mojtoc (I googled it - "Made Outside Japan, Therefore Obviously Crap", apparently....)
Butte currently has about 3 or 4 weeks start. I suggest both runners meet up after a year, and see who wins. I think it could be a dead heat (unless Ishmael throws...
We could round in circles here, my friend - but here is a poor pic (it is the middle of the night here!) of the back of my Aeromarine. This is just three weeks from brand new.
Believe me, in a year, it will look better than that hide you have there ;)
If you have ordered your Dustbowl...
Hi Breton
The thing about almost all the new range of jackets from Aero - including the Dustbowl - is that they are NOT made from the really heavy FQHH that is a feature of the previous range.
So unless you have specifically asked for "battle armour", you should get mid weight hide. And if...
A friend of mine has a malamute/alsatian cross. It is the biggest dog I have ever seen! He weighs around 150lbs.....and his fur is VERY thick.
But I really don't think my friend would be happy to think of someone wearing his best friend as a coat!:eeek::D;)
BTW, great pics - I guess it is...
Paid a visit to the Denim Doctor in Manchester today.
Picked up a couple of items that Michael had been working his magic on....
Here is a hole in a vintage Lee Chore Coat that looked pretty unsightly:
Because the garment is blanket-lined, it needed to be taken apart a little to access the...
