Yes, indeed, good work avedwards. Both your hats are great, love the bold height on your friend's fedora!
It's a shame I look ridiculous in a fedora.
Did you get your suit made at a 'regular' tailor? It is a a subtle beauty. You pull off the db well.
That's one of the things I love about the 1930s, the way suit trousers were abused like a pair of jeans...
Most stylish people I've ever seen:
One from 1950 for a change
From the Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington website...
Ha! I've never seen an Irvin worn like that before.
But no, it's not a good way to wear it imho.
A few more from the ever increasing number of digitised Romanian photos:
This photographer was clearly the Romanian Disfarmer.
A common modern piece of style advice is 'match tie width to lapel width' try doing that with those lapels...! ;)
Love the tweed sportscoat, but the outfit that stands out for me is the one with the blue tie, very subdued but with a lot of substance!
Not sure about the db without trouser cuffs! The trousers look very plain compared to the jacket. Quite a classic looking suit though.
What is weird about those gentlemen HBK?
The guy on the left looks like he is suffocating in that jacket...
There is a certain combo that seems to be popular on the sartorialist right now,
massive jacket with loud print, skinny trousers and shoes with huge soles.
It makes the wearer look like some kind of prehistoric bird...
Great film, but I found it hard to believe that a man on the run would let a young kid go along with him.
I like the leather jacket he wears later in the film.
This is just meant to be a bit of fun:
There are some items of clothing that elicit an almost physical revulsion from me.
But I don't know, call me a masochist, but I enjoy hating some of these things.
Prime example: raglan sleeved, shapeless leather jacket with a storm flap with multiple...
I see a lot of photographs of skiers from that period wearing just a shirt with a crew neck jumper.
Isn't this a terrible choice of skiing attire, as it is not wind-proof in the slightest?
I like that tie knot, it's a lot nicer on the vintage tie.
I definitely abide by the crookedest knot as well, it's less formal and that suits my needs.
