    Calling German loungers - Jukejive

The proprietor got back to me and said his English wasn't the best, but he was polite and helpful. The reply was very late and I had kind of lost interest at that point. They do seem to have some nice items though, especially the short wool jackets.

Grey wool flannels, 34/31 Danish Civil defence (civilian cut)

Hello all, I am selling a glorious pair of surplus civil defence flannel trousers. They were in fact made in the 1960s, but the cut is spot on for a 1930s-1950s look. Very heavy and thick dark grey wool flannel, single forward pleats, tunnel belt loops, zip fly with a very nice zip I am...

    What are you wearing today??

I like that jacket. It seems several Italian designers have been experimenting with details like high button stances for some time now. I think there is a wider resurgence of large peak lapels as well. Here's a couple of outfits from the last few days. the jacket in the first image is new and...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Damn, what a cool look. I appreciate that you can wear a bow tie in a way that doesn't come across as eccentric, or 'cute'.

    Vintage WWII Airplanes hiding away...

Very fascinating. It will be great to see these planes restored. And a one of a kind two-seater Messerschmitt/Buchon! Brilliant. His observations on the relative performance of the aircraft are intriguing. The Messerschmitts/Buchons have Merlin engines, so what he says might not 100%...

    What are you wearing today??

Nice. The pocket watch chain through the lapel button-hole is something I have wanted to try for a while. Looks good!

    Nice one HBK.

    Vintage Workwear

I thought you might have the answer. That's it as far as I'm concerned. 'Extention neckband' the clue is in the name. Perhaps it additionally caters to different neck sizes, if for example they were issued by a company to their employees en masse without bothering very much with the sizes.

    Vintage Workwear

I am also curious about this. I like it as a detail but am not entirely clear on it's original purpose.

Dinerman, nice one. That reversible number is the ultimate short jacket. it combines two of my favourite styles.

    The Cap Faction

Thank you! It's good to see more manufacturers go for the wider look, and dare I say the Fedora Lounge has some influence on the market. I think I wear this one more confidently that I did my less conspicuous caps. Seems counter-intuitive, but a wider cap just suits me more!

    girls in guy's garb

That woman's poise makes such a strong impression, that I did not even notice the fit of the suit until I looked more closely. I wish she actually wore a suit out and about, but it looks like a distant possibility now.

Agreed! Another priceless image from the Romanian archive.

    The Cap Faction

Here is my Sterkowski cap. They call this style the 'beret cap' which alludes to it's large, round crown. I am very pleased with it. The crown is not attached to the brim, however, due to it's size it is not liable to flip up like a peaked hat. It very adjustable, and naturally drapes to one...

    Luxire trousers

A valid point. Having followed threads here on the Fedora Lounge closely for a couple of years now, it seems many members have found a reliable and cost effective solution in Luxire. So I followed suit. But it would be good to find a more local maker, UK or European in general even if it does...

    Luxire trousers

I sent Luxire a pair of trousers to copy. The original pair had daks adjusters, but I asked for belt loops, buttons for braces and buckle adjusters. I also asked them to increase the width of the cuffs. I chose the light grey wool flannel. The positive: The fabric is not what I expected, but...

    Peaky Blinders

I agree. Well, I think the same every time a well trodden theme is revisited instead of something neglected and forgotten. do these series project some kind of male pining for primitive territorial ape faeces throwing while stuck, alienated in a sanitized dystopia? ;)

    Tab Collar Shirts Still Available?

I believe it is a 1900s shirt seen on ebay some time ago? Maybe not something that could be marketed to work with a modern super wool suit, but what about with sports coats for that country look? Plenty of conservative brands push the tattersall shirt as the ideal accompaniment to a tweed...

Looking for vintage-styled patterned sweaters for under $50

This 'country-gent' inspired brand makes a very nice one. http://www.joulesusa.com/Men/Sweatshirts-Jumpers/Overton/Mens-Fair-Isle-Tank-Top/Fairisle-Intarsia?id=R_OVERTON|BEDFSLE Thick and warm, with a low v neck. When I saw people complaining that it was 'too short' in the review section, I...
