Fair is foul, and foul is fair! Hover through filth and misty air!
I have to agree with eClairvaux. Indeed there have been cases were a fellow lounger has asked for honest opinions concerning the fit of a specific jacket. Well, sometimes the fit wasn't that good or the whole 'assortement' of...
Thanks HD and Methusela! Sorry, no before pictures. It was so shabby and dirty that I was about to throw it away! No, I don't work with watches for a living. I'm in marketing... But I used to work for a German upmarket wristwatch company but again not as a watchmaker. But I do have the necessary...
Hello everybody,
Today I’d like to show you a watch that was passed on to me by my granddad (Opa). It’s a late ‘50s/early ‘60s “Goldina” branded 17 jewels hand winding chronograph. I’m sure that Goldina was not a real brand but more a private label make. But the watch is fitted with a decent...
Great fitting and well made jacket! You wear it well! Along with the newsie cap, western shirt and dry denim pants you are wearing a great combination of clothing. Very classic and classy! A far cry from "Schlüter's Boxbude"! ;)
Hello everybody,
this is my new newsboy cap. It was designed by a German retailer called JukeJive. They mainly recreate clothing of 20s, 30s, and 40s. No wonder this cap is based on the typical full cut of 1930/40s models. It's exactly what I've been looking for: Fuller cut, wide brim, thick...
Thanks!
From toe to tip ;)

It's strange how a beard can have a will of its own. Many beards choose to have a distinct russet undertone and don't mind the hair colour, skin type or eye colour of their host. My beard has exactly the same colour as yours...
BTW: How much have you paid for that beautiful coat? Did you...
Yes, Holland & Sherry!! I was just about to mention them! Excellent cloths. You might find something among their Fall/Winter 2010 collection (apparel) or among their interior collection.
Exactly! Why would I want to criticize somebody who wears a size 40 or 42 (Kojax) or any other member on this forum? I was trying say that a lot of American clothing is either oddly cut or fitted with wrong labels. I am not saying that Germans are slimmer than Americans. God knows there are lot...
Yes it would be nice to meet up. Unfortunately I don't do big tournaments anymore. Just small local stuff maybe three or four times a year. Impressive bows!!
Use common sense...they are of course all the same. Just the colour differs and the green one seems to have a more "fluffy" cotton wrapping. Apart from that it's all the same stuff.
Some Japanese vendors have ordered Aeros with slimmer sleeves to accomodate the slender built of their customers. Just mention that you want really trim upper sleeves. It could also help to order a true two piece sleeve like on the HG-5. Most civilian Aeros do have two piece back sleeve config...
I am too careless for yew or osage bows (which I adore) therefore I always have to shoot laminated bows. I like Martin bows because among the still affordable ones they offer by far the best build quality. I've been doing 3D since '94.
Griff, yes I know that the knot is always the weakest part. But these pics were just for fun and had no scientific value at all. I don't know what the real breaking strength of one strand would be but it's more or less impossible to rip it apart with your bare hands.
I'm into traditional (3D)...
Wow, I envy you for that jacket. It looks so warm and appears to be very well made! The oversized black mouton collar is also a very cool feature. Along with your impressive homegrown all natural ruff ;) you really shouldn't fear arctic winters... It would take me approx. 170 years to grow such...
They offer a really redish russet as well.
As for the armholes...Edward is right. The 1930s HB already has quite high armholes and the sleeves on my jacket are tight as well. If you really want extra tight sleeves you could mention that on your spec sheet. You could write something like...
Why not check Magee of Ireland? They are famous for their Donegal Tweed. I am not sure if they sell bare cloth but you could buy one of their tweed wool rugs or throws and have that made into a lining for a Grizzly.
