Great fit HighandDry, and even greater jacket! You just have to love these Halfbelts and Aero's 30s HB is as good as it gets...especially if the fit is correct. It's always a good thing to see, smell and try an Aero in a shop. I must have had about a dozen Aeros in the past but I'm still totally...
Leave it as it is! If you really need to restore a certain area buy some dull brown (epoxy based) spray paint. It has to be epoxy based because it needs to stay flexible. Colour RAL 8027 works for some jackets just fine. I guess that's what they are actually using when they are dying the...
A LHB is different in construction when compared to a Cheyenne. The Cheyenne consists of 4 huge leather panels that all more or less cover the full length of the jacket. The cutter will have to find at least 4 full skins that are large enough (and display a good thickness throughout their full...
Nice jacket!! The leather seems to be very pliable and comfortable. The body length is really good on yours. Many A1s seem to be a bit short for my taste. The sleeves also have a decent length on your latest acquisition. Now give it a good Pecard's spa and it'll be ready for the worst Dutch (and...
The double leather cuffs are not a mod but come as standard on certain Aeros. But you'll have to specify those on a 30s HB otherwise you'll get single leather ones. The leather lining can feel quite cold on the skin especially in lower temperatures. Corduroy is probably more comfortable but less...
Sorry no pics of the back. All of those "tree pictures" are taken with a tripod, self-timer and natural lighting, therefore it's difficult to get a decent photo, when you are turning your back against the camera...
My 30s HB is a bit longer than a 50s HB would be. But I requested the extra...
The leather strip you mentioned is a neat and good looking feature and it does protect the lining. But only if the lining is made from a material that's prone to premature wear or fraying like alpaca. Another reason for premature wear of the lining could be a holster of a gun or cell phone or...
It costs approx. 35 EUR for insured shipping depending on how fast you want it shipped. I wouldn't recommend USPS express though because the extra fee for express doesn't really speed things up. A parcel will take about 6-10 working days to Italy. Only buy a peacoat in excellent/mint conditon...
Ask Gancho. He had Aero make a fur collared A2 for his girlfriend. I think Aero don't have templates for jackets smaller than size 36. A Cafe Racer in size 32 would be incredibly uncomfortable if it would be made from FQHH. Girls always prefer softer hides anyway.
Dave, that's a sharp looking coat. Great fit! It really goes well with the rest of your clothing. And your daughter is simply adorable!! I love her hat and scarf! ...But since I got a soft spot for trees...maybe you could introduce me to one of the ivy covered birches in the background...
Hello and welcome. I'd say you probably need a size 38 short. The standard length will be too long for you. I am 6'1 (186cm) and my peacoat is a 38 regular. A 38 short is not difficult to find. Check VT regularly and you'll find a decent one for a good price.

Well, a military peacoat is supposed to have a quite narrow torso with high armholes. They are ususally less boxy than their civilian relatives. Here's my NOS 1968 Dale Fashions Navy peacoat:
Here's the full review...
Corduroy doesn't make the jacket bulkier. Especially if it's made of heavy leather. Corduroy was used in many period jackets. I've once handled a 30s Halfbelt of unknown origin and that jacket had beautiful olive corduroy pocket bags. I loved it!
Hi,
I can only agree with what has been said before. The Barnstormer will look silly when worn over a suit jacket. And with alpaca in the sleeves it will be almost impossible to wear a blazer underneath. However the Barnstormer will look excellent as an replacement for a classic overcoat...
