Barry Humphreys, comedian who recently played the Goblin king in The Hobbit I think he wears hats exceedingly well and his dress sense reminds me somewhat of Jean Gabin's. Note how he has double breast patch pockets on most of his jackets.

This is a nice suit worn by comedian Barry Humphries: It's nice to see people in the wild (outside the fedora lounge) who appreciate a good double breast patch pocketed jacket. ;)

I like it, I think a sober colour like this benefits from detailing on the pockets. Additionally one can be adventurous with the rest of the outfit.

    Vintage short wool jackets

Must have coincided with (to complement) the trend of higher waisted trousers in the 1930s.

Brilliant HBK. Is that a workshop type jacket?

It's not all-together a bad style, but I think the concept is overwrought, and isn't about flattering the wearer anymore. It's all about the look.

    Lovely. Late 1920s-early 1930s?

Either that or I have one arm longer than the other!

    British Workwear

Almost looks like motorcyclist armour on the shoulders.

I'm glad. ;) There is, but that's also another tailoring expense to add to the list!! Right now I'm telling myself: people wore it like this in the 30s, and also it's trendy right now! (not the best excuse, but whatever works to stop me spending) Yes, those are patch pockets on the trousers...

    What are you wearing today??

Griemersma, nice outfits, and you wear those hats particularly well. HamilcarBarca3, I bet you were envisioning that outfit the second you got that jacket. :D My offering for today:

Here is a modern jacket I bought on sale, by Italian brand Royal Hem. It does seem as though wide lapels on their way back to the mainstream. These are some of the most exaggerated ones I've seen on a modern jacket. The roped shoulders are an interesting way of giving an un-padded shoulder that...

Both are lovely, but that casual suit is so spot on it hurts.

Nice casual outfit. The light coloured thin belt and jumper sans collared shirt contrast the tailored jacket wonderfully. Funny how wide padded shoulders start to resemble unstructured shoulders when they slope like that.

That is gorgeous. That fur collar perfectly complements the herringbone tweed.

All the outfits sported by Farrar are spot on, but I think he has a charismatic and intense demeanor which really brings everything to life. The school uniform is unusual, that double breasted front with a single row of buttons is very sharp! The other day I was thinking that school kids in...

    What are you wearing today??

Several reviews on the site complained that the top was 'too short' so I thought 'jackpot', and bought it right away. It measures 26 inches long. Which isn't bad at all, but if you flip the waistband up, it is spot on. Generally with modern jumpers, I look for the ones that have a hem that ends...

    What are you wearing today??

Hello Simon. :yo: Esteban, their chart says L is a 41-43 chest. I have a 41 chest, but chose to go with a medium. Generally with generic sizing I find you want to be on the larger side of the margin. The medium measures 20.5 inches from pit to pit. you'd think it's too small for me, but it is...

Thank you. It is by British brand Joules. They carry the same style now but in a different colour combination.

Grey wool flannels, 34/31 Danish Civil defence (civilian cut)

You're welcome. Mine actually bears a stamp on the inner waistband with a crown and the year 1967.
