Hidden placket
Plackets like that weren't uncommon at all, though I generally see them on notch lapel models. The date on the union label is the only difference between the 1936 and 1939 tags, which leaves a 13 year window that it could have been manufactured in. The breast pocket and shape of those lapels...- Dinerman

In the latest post, the layer under my coat is a tweed jacket made by Messagerie. The coat itself is RRL, as is the shirt. The hat's an old Banana Republic and the jeans are LVC. 1928-1932 Spalding Leather Flight Suit
Leather feels like capeskin, the lining is a silk pile. I think the boots are horse. I got the original ads for the suit yesterday, and as you can imagine, this kind of specialty suit was super expensive new. Endorsed by Lindbergh!
