Vintage Picking and Road Tripping with Dinerman

Alex and I took an impromptu, "hey want to go to Livingston in ten minutes?" trip this morning a half hour east of here. Livingston's an interesting town, a mix of worn wrangler jeans and patagonia fleeces, cowboy bars and high end flyfishing shops. Time ran short, so we had to skip my...

    Vintage Shoe Sizes

For any of you who have struggled to decipher the old fashioned size codes in vintage shoes, here's a handy guide. The first number stands for the width, with a lower number denoting a narrower shoe and a higher one a wider one. The second set of numbers is the size, codes ending in 0 are full...

    What are you wearing today??

High end made in the USA Cone mills selvedge. Fastest I've ever had a pair get a hole in them, and since the floodgates opened, the disintegration has been aggressive. But after dropping money on them and having them fall apart the way they have, I stubbornly started patching. Then the patching...

    What are you wearing today??

They're 1933 LVCs from three or so years ago. They've been falling apart and I've been patching them for the past two years.

Today, Alex and I intended just to make a quick hour and a half or so jaunt a couple towns over to Three Forks, Montana but, as seems to happen with us, ended up going way further. We hit a thrift shop about the size of my bedroom in Manhattan, MT which is new since I was last in that town...

From Alex: Kalispell turned out to be a haven for little treasures that filled our trip with “wait wait, we have to pull over”. Although we stopped and explored every little strange part of Kalispell and surrounding area that we found, I have a hunch there’s so much more that we missed. Two...

    D-Pocket leather jackets

This one's a heavy cowhide. Lee Trevor were pretty high end back when they were a going concern. I've seen their labels in older production Johnson Motors branded leathers before Vanson took over production for them. I don't believe "genuine leather" has a specific meaning in the industry...

Think you're man enough to handle a BarnStormer flyboy...? No wimps allowed!!

Even runs a bit big for a size 50 with a 58" chest measurement. With that hand written size tag, that had to have been a custom order (not to mention that style was almost 15 years out of fashion by the time this one was made).

Here are the jackets. I'll post pics of the ties and boots later on- they need a different photo setup.
