Did some digging and as best as I can tell this is made in Japan. No reason to think this was made in China; any Chinese Schott jackets being distributed for Schott international are tagged as being made in China, which this is not.

Honestly not sure how to answer your question. The label is all in Japanese, which I don't read. I bought the jacket in Osaka, Japan. Maybe can ask Schott where the jackets for the Japanese market are made if it's important? Quality is outstanding.
