Here's a tie I picked up the other day. I looked up the patent number, it was patented in 1923 and the Disclaimer has a date of 1930.
Next is the tie my friend bought, and we're curious to know how old his tie is. Can anyone tell from the label what era it's from? The R in the circle leaves...
Does anyone remember the Macy's window's on 34th street back in the mid-'90s? I recall them having static animals dressed in the Golden Era style, with the main focus being an elephant dressed as Santa Claus.
This what me and my friend, a fellow Fedora Lounger, wore at the 2nd day of the Jazz Age Lawn party on Governor's Island. My vintage garb includes another 1920's tie, my usual 1960 tie clip and my recently purchased pre-1962 sport coat. My friend's wearing a 1930's sportcoat.
This is what I wore today at the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island. Vintage attire includes my pre-1949 jacket, 1920's tie, and circa 1960 tie clip.
Arnold Hatters was where I bought most of my hats for years. There is a small store I know of in Brooklyn on the corner of Dean and Smith street called "Bejewled" that sells classic fedora's, porkie's a couple of derbies, and classic caps along with modern versions. The prices are pretty reasonable.

The first jacket has a 1939 Union tag, which means it was made no later than 1949. The second one has the 1962 union tag, and the lapel style along with the way the bottom blouses wider than the shoulders says '70s.
I noticed! I've been curious about it for years. It could quite possibly be a pre-1920's non-American suit. He lived in Argentina for a while in either the 1900's or 1910's after moving from Italy.
My grandpas father circa 1924.
My grandmas father in the early '30s.
My grandpa and a friend circa 1942.
My grandparents shortly after getting married in Italy circa 1951. My grandma told me the clothes they were wearing were custom made. Her coat was brown and his suit was blue and the...
Just got these ties I ordered the other day from American Vintage. They green and blue ties are from the 1920's and the red one is from around 1950. The green one is 100% virgin wool, the whine colored one is knit and the last one which is deadstock and has the origional cardboard tag is silk satin.
