Driving golden era cars in the modern era

I looked up the "$50" story and that's one odd tall tale. From the same source I did find an interesting story of a rumor from a "Collectible Automobile" issue that there is a secret warehouse somewhere with still new 1942 cars. http://wwiijeepparts.com/Archives/WW2JeepsInCrates.html

    1930s BLACK PINSTRIPE DOUBLE-BREASTED SUIT - 4 PIECES - MINT CONDITION

Wow, comes with both regualer slacks, AND dropped loop? Simply amazing, and a glorious suit to boot! I'd say it counts as a holy grail suit!

    Grandfather's trousers

I have a nearly identical pair of slacks (style wise) from the '20s/'30s, I'd say say the same for yours.

Looks like I missed on this one...

The big tips I can give for vintage shopping especially in thrift stores are: label, union tag, lining, vents and lapel buttonholes. The union tag is the best dating clue, and there's a sticky here on Fedora Lounge that talks all about them.

I need to get on this bandwagon, I work in animation too! What do you do herringbonekid? Iwerks was working at MGM in the early '30s making Flip the Frog cartoons, but later rejoined the Disney. A great animator and inventor, he would go on to make many animation innovations over the years...

1930s-'50s Blue Harris Tweed 3-pc. Suit

Definitely a '40s/'50s Harris tweed. I have a WWII era harris tweed jacket with the label similar to that one, except mine has the "Copyright 1937" portion. Another clue are the vertical pockets and tiny belt loops.

Small cc41 double breasted suit in a wonderful shade (... BK sized?)

I've seen the double vent on a suit as in a movie made in 1942, I think.

    1940s/1950s 3-piece pinstripe suit

I've heard about the Demob and CC41 suits a lot here on Fedora lounge, and now I'm curious to know more about them. What's their story?

George Formby's wardrobe in general was quite amazing. Especially his single breasted peak lapel numbers.

Anyone know where I can find a pair, vintage or repro, of the glasses Mr. Gallagher is wearing in this early '20s era photograph?
