I own and still wear baseball caps a bit. When I am at a firing range, grilling/ bbqing, hiking, camping, and of course at the baseball games. I really do not want to ruin a western hat at any of these locations so I switch to a baseball style cap. I have 50+ baseball caps, some have simply...
I would wear the first two hats but the third I just cannot see anything but a train conductor, train ticket taker, or such railway oriented jobs wearing this type of head gear. Just my opinion though.
50 hats... I would like to think that would be a lot but I know through out my living quarters there are more than 50 baseball caps. So 50 westerns is not unimaginable. I would really have to up my wardrobe to have a reason to wear 50 different hats. Ha Ha.
"A tea kettle on the boil and patience is enough."
If only this was the whole story. I have attempted to shape the brim on a western that I own and it is not as simple as steam and patience.
There is a lot of handwork and crucial hand placement that is required. I worked with my hat for an...
A late shift night owl, maybe. I generally stay up about 36 hours, sleep for 8 and then another 36 awake. I am not sure what that is but it can be very annoying.
I am also wondering about how best to stiffen a hat, thank you for posting this. I believe I am just going to call Hatco Hats and the person I had make a custom hat for me.
Éthano = Ethanol
Acétone = Acetone
Gaz de pétrole liquéfié = Liquefied Petroleum Gas
Alcool Butylique = Butyl Alcohol
Alcool isopropylique = Isopropyl Alcohol
Just incase there was any questions what those are.
I do not have anyone to wake me up, so I cannot say that is part of my problem. :) I even tried the Rx sleep aids, but I am not one to use such and quickly tossed those aside.
So I will just keep watching the sunrise. :D
Glad to see I am not the only one though.
Ah, that is a bummer. I am guessing Mike is a bit busy with the film hats and prior orders.
I am currently waiting for a custom made hat. I ordered it from Baldwin Hats in Sister, Oregon. I am very excited. It will be black, 100% beaver fur with a 4 inch brim and a cattleman's crown.
I will...
I spent a week on the Bering Sea recovering test equipment for the Navy. I have no clue how cold it was with or without the wind chill. All I know is that it was extremely cold, extremely windy, and I was ready to leave the moment I arrived.
I had been living on the isle of Guam for two years...
Being in the southeastern portion of the US, winter is often times not as brutal as other locations. For days that are dry and only slightly cool (7.2 C - 12.7 C/ 45-55 F) I wear a fleece jacket I purchased from a sporting good store (Bass Pro Shop). When it is wet or any colder, I wear a duster...
Holding one's breath that long may have negative impacts on one's health, therefore I will refrain. I was, however, suggesting that images may be posted. Unless of course you are waiting on the hat, as I am currently doing.
Happy New Year to all as well.
The Duck Boots have been extremely popular of late. I visited a Sperry shoe store (Atlanta, Lenox Mall) and saw a multitude of them. While I have seen a large number of these being worn, I have also seen a large a number of them being replaced quickly. I just want to encourage everyone to do...
In truth my hat wearing began, outside of baseball caps, when I joined the military. As I started out in the Navy, the first one I had was an all white "dog bowl." Swiftly there after came the garrison cap, and from there it was off to the Army. In the Army it was hard covers, berets, and patrol...
