USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

I'm not even that certain that people will see something else thank a blue or sage green bomber jacket. What I'm fairly sure of is that the details will be lost on most.

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Right on spot. The price/build quality of the Alpha is pretty good, but the lack of small accurate details is unnerving to say the least. My L-2 beater is a pretty good windbreaker, but it wouldn't have cost much more to put the correct zipper box tab, by example.

    Aero A-10 gloves

That's what I read too, that Eastman gloves are rebranded MASH ones. Still, the MASH + shipping costs from Japan are 20EUR cheaper than the ELC ones.

    Aero A-10 gloves

Well well well... I finally pushed the button and ordered MASH A-10 gloves. Hopefully, this will be a short wait!

First walk in the snow for Marion! It was all fun until she slip and fell a couple times, then she wanted to be carried BUT didn't wanted to go home... Aaaah, kids!!

Heading to London in 2 weeks. Want an Eastman A2.. help!

Totally agreed! Pretty cool shop, lots of ELC jackets, and the owner is really helpful. Actually, I was quite impressed when he correctly identified my Aero A-2, contract and all, at first glance. It's well worth a visit! There's also Son of a Stag on Brick Lane.

New Eastman B-15 - great trip to the London pop up shop!

The fit looks spot on! How is the chest size for a 46? On the smaller side, or normal?

    What are you wearing today??

Thanks Bfd! I've been wearing almost every day when the temperature range is anywhere between 5 and 20°C, with different layers beneath, of course. I won't change it for anything in the world!

    Diamond Dave L-2A

I understand your gripes against some choices DD is making (and, as I said, I share some of them), but I think this is somewhat getting ridiculous. It's now looking more like a personal vendetta than anything else... @BobJ the jacket is now soft as butter! It became comfortable pretty quickly...

    Diamond Dave L-2A

This one makes no sense at all for me neither. Moreover, I've tried applying an aftermarket USAF roundel on an Alpha L2 beater. Well, let's say it didn't go as planned... That doesn't worry me much on the Alpha, but on a DD 500$ jacket...

    What are you wearing today??

    - My usual Aero Leather 42-18775-P A-2 in dark seal jerky horsehide - Rumble 59 racing sweater - Pike Brothers 1937 Roamers trousers - 1480 Dr. Martens that have seen better days - Cheapo 8 panels cap

That's why I went for the jerky hide on my Aero A-2. The Vicenza is wonderful, but it looks to "polished" for my idea of a wartime production jacket.

    Even the fit? :p
  14. Cocker

    Diamond Dave L-2A

Case in point. My Aero 42-18775-P is 27.5 inches long. The trousers are SJC Yard Boss, which are really high waisted. When closed, the jacket sits about 0.5 inches below the belt.

    Diamond Dave L-2A

They are supposed to be among the best, yes indeed. Personally, as stated higher, although the 3 extra inches may detract for the historical accuracy, this would be the only way for me to wear an L2A. At 6'4" and 200lbs, I do not consider myself big. Most of my pants are mid/high waisted...

Try finding an original or cheap L2A repro that fits when you're 6'4"... Or even a good quality repro appart from this one...

    Buzz Rickson-William Gibson A2-Birthday Present

Happy Birthday, Terry! The jacket looks amazing, I love the contrasting black/russet, and the fit is bang on. You couldn't have secured a best gift!

    Eastman A-2 help

Salute to your father, Cooper. He must have been a brave man, and I'm sure that even you didn't knew him much, you are proud of him. For your information, this SNJ is based in Blois-le-Breuil (LFOQ). If you've ever been to La Ferté-Alais airshow, you must have seen it, as Fred is flying in the...

    Eastman A-2 help

Thanks Cooper! It's an SNJ-5, the naval version of the T-6. It's owned by a friend of mine in France, and I now have 5 hours flying time on it. Nothing fancy, no take-offs or landings, juste some fun in between :-) This is the one:

    Eastman A-2 help

Hello Greg, I'll try to answo the best of my knowledge: - I think their Vicenza seal is lighter than the jerky seal, you might want to ask them for a swatch of each one - The jerky is, well, jerky. Lots of character straight up, great grain, sometimes mismatched from one part of the jacket to...
