I should explain that I had seen the jacket a day before in the other forum, so I didn’t click on the links. It’s a tremendous jacket, in my opinion.

and maybe Bronson L2A

and I do not see much difference, only price 500$ vs maybe 130 -200 bucks
Regards

Try finding an original or cheap L2A repro that fits when you're 6'4"... Or even a good quality repro appart from this one...

Mine is a test sample so a great "intro" price. The quality is outstanding though and worth regular retail IMO!!!!!

sorry about the pics, I am trying to get some help, I did load them on "My Media" and uploaded everything, I thought correctly. I can see the pics now at the top of the thread but I am logged in, could not see them when not logged in???

Oh well

I own an A-2 from Diamond Dave and I find myself very tempted by his latest offerings in nylon. He really puts his heart into his work, and I'm quite sure that it is a very nice jacket for the money.

another issue with originals is that they are VERY short waisted, almost impracticably so. Dave adds 3 inches to the length which make a huge wearable difference!

Err, is this the Diamond Dave/Goodwear jacket that people were hyping so much?
Well, I appreciate that this is going to be heresay that will end in my being blackballed from the lounge, but I think it's absolutely awful.
Three extra inches? Why? For hipsters who want to wear low rise pants, or for people who are in such a bad shape that they have to hide their body? I'd love to see a shot from the back, I bet it's way too loose and baggy/saggy.
The dimensions of this jacket just look so wrong, it doesn't deserve to be priced any higher than one of the many mall jackets from which it's inauthentic fit is indistinguishable IMHO.
But that's just my 2 cents, and anyone who is happy with that is welcome to it.
I'll stick with my Buzz Rickson's, sensible eating, and daily exercise thanks.

Pretty sure Buzzes are cut longer in the body than their 50s counterparts. I'm 6'2" and both my L-2 and L-2A sat about a half inch below my belt.

Hmm, I don't know about that. My BR MA-1 is the same length at my 60's MA-1's, don't own an issue L-2, but the length of both jackets was defined by the dimensions of G-suits, so lengths of originals of MA-1 and L-2 should be the same for same tag size.
These are short jackets. It's part of the iconic style and appeal. It just doesn't work for some people. They need a longer jacket.
We wouldn't consider a 'slim fit' MA-1 to be a great repro, so I'd rule against +3 inches as straying from the spirit of originals too much. The balance seems wrong to me, the 'look' isn't right.
It's not my money, and people are free to choose.
I might not have bothered commenting in the first place, but this is the DD/GW jacket right? Aren't they supposed to be 'the best'?
