" The Great British Hat Makers "

1930's/1940s Dunn Co (Tonak) Zephyr Seal Velour I got this one a few months ago from ebay UK. The felt is extremely lightweight with a gorgeous color that changes from a light lavender to a light silver gray in the light. This hat was sold through Dunn & Co, but further investigation under the...

OTHER THAN eBAY Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Fantastic info, Steve!! Thanks! I didn't even notice the "Dermotta" name on the clips until you pointed it out. I have admired these clips since I saw your posts years ago, and I had hoped to find one. It was shocking to me that I would actually find 24 of them. They have had quite a...

OTHER THAN eBAY Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I seriously can't believe I just bought this.....a NOS box of 24 hat crease clips. I didn't know stuff like this still existed. I have only seen these hat clips in Vintage American Hatter publications and several posted by Steve in the German/Austrian hat thread...

One of the most beautiful color combos I have ever seen on a hat. Clean lines, no crazy colors, just perfect elegance. Spectacular!!

I was going to bid, but I made an off-white longhair hat not too long ago. I am interested in seeing your up-close pics of that one!

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Steve.....my word...both of those hats are unreal!! I LOVE the bow work on the bad homburg hat, and that Derby....WOW!!!! I am in love with that tall and square crown coupled with the wide ribbon. Wide ribbon derbies are rare to begin with, so are square crown derbies....toss in the short brim...

    G.B.Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C. <1936

Just an amazing hat! I will take one in every color! LOL. I am not familiar with "Mode Hut." Was that a term used for the "non traditional" hats of the day?

    G.B.Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C. <1936

SPECTACULAR, Steve!!!! The condition is remarkable and the raw edged pencil curl is by far my favorite "brim up" treatment for early fedoras. Though some may call this a lords hat...its a fedora to me.

ooooh, hats with provenance! I do love that! Are the sweatbands printed with names or initials of the prominent man who owned them?

WOW, Vic!!! That is spectacular!! I was tempted to buy that one myself because of the incredible condition of that Oxblood colored sweatband. It looks like it was never worn.

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

VERY cool! I have only owned two Premier Quality Stetsons and both were really special. The felt was exceptionally finished

For Trade: 20's JC Penney's Marathon Velour Up Brim 7 1/4

I remember that one, I used to own it. LOL I see the ribbon was replaced. I remember the old one was quite torn up. The velour was really something special though. At a size 7 1/4, it was way too big for me.
