i've also seen a lot of British suits with short jackets. going by the back length of 28" you'd think the suit would be a short, but no, the sleeves are 25" and the inside leg is 31" which is a Reg length.
anyway, jackets in the early 20s - at least in America - were on the long side, so these...
here's a revised version of the 20s one with different top (hopefully any 'burger' connotations have gone)
and slightly re-drawn cap:
...
here's some more. these have more of a workwear feel i think:
i tried some colour to see how it might work printed on paper / packaging etc.
drat, i wish you hadn't put that image in my mind. (similarity to an existing burger logo ?) ... the shape of the cap could be refined to look less burger like.
Simonds, these ideas are inspired by the above suggestion from Johnny J ^, and have a sort of early 20s feel:
these aren't 'finished'... if you like either i'll clean up the linework.

if i was doing a 'dressy' suit i wouldn't use it, but for tough tweed or workwear i like it.
more, used in the 20s mini-herringbone suit:
i imagine there are...
no, don't worry Fastuni, i'd never use an elastic waistband. horrible stuff !
it's basically a big roll of fancy cotton tape. i wouldn't have even known what it was until i saw it in some vintage French trousers (will post a pic soon).
more shots of the suit here...
i'm a 37 chest, and the jacket is exactly what i would expect for that size (the shoulders are slightly narrow), but should be fine for a 36 with waistcoat under jacket.
i tried a tache once after shaving off a feeble almost-beard to see how it might look. it gave me the possibility of looking deeply serious, sleazy, caddish, devilish or comical (or a combination of any of those) depending on which expression i pulled. i hadn't expected a strip of hair to be...
^^ great cap Flat top !
why does the thread have to be moved... and what happened to the old thread anyway ? (apologies if this has already been discussed)
Wiser Hatter, i'm not feeling it. it doesn't come across as vintage enough. if you plan on using a diamond then it's the perfect opportunity to warp the text to fit into the diamond shape.
